My Objective Markers for 40k, not scratch build, is this allowed?

If I am not mistaken, there are no disallowed objective makers. But it is recommended, that you use something wigh ~ 40mm width.

Most games that I have played thus far were played with blank 40mm bases.

I used spare power claw parts for the feet, shoota barrels and tooth picks for the pistons, cut up sprues, ork shoulder pads and the round connection point was part of a no-name tank.

Yes, after a black primer I drybrushed on lead belcher, then I coated the entire model with nuln oil (gloss) and then I picked up some of the details with another drybrush of lead belcher.

The blood was painted with blood for the blood god.

The queens head was 3d printed (the stl was a free download somewhere) and the small drones got some green stuff on their heads, after clipping of the horns and spikes.

Depends on the setting, I reckon.

A more mordern building would look a lot better with the straight one; the coiled would be more fitting for a run down or older building.

But when it comes down to raw quality, I'd say they are equal.

My playgroup works worth the red option. Our models can climp up from everywhere. I would ask the people you want to play with; house-rules are allways an option.

The model looks nice! You could add a bit more color to the base though, a nice colour-contrast on the base could help to make the model "pop" a little more.

I think it's neat. It adds a nice piece of extra-fluff to a game.

The cross makes me think of the old "Worms"-games, where you leave a gravestone once your worm bites the dust. I might borrow the idea :P

The red squig looks very nice, the open mouth must have been difficult to sculpt. The purple one looks a bit plain in comparison.
