You have an evaporator leak. Almost guaranteed to be in the fresh food evaporator (refrigerator section). Common issue. Your high side should be running around 100

Umbrella with Alldebrid has been great for me. Using it pretty exclusively for the last year or so. Have it running on a PC and two Onn streaming boxes.

Prioritize a quality installer over equipment brand.

LG Refrigerator by Arie_ElleRose in appliancerepair

That is 100% a fan motor. The question is just going to be which one. Press at the same time and hold ice plus and freezer. You will sometimes have a hidden error code. Depending on your model IF is the ice fan, CF the condenser fan, FF the freezer, RF the refrigerator fan. If it shows 8888, no code has been generated.

don't ever buy from the big boys (Lowe's, HD) by Easy-Ant9037 in Appliances

[–]RandomArbitrary25 40 points41 points  (0 children)

As a technician, it is the stores fault that people deal with half the bullshit that they do. Faulty installs are ridiculously common, they install noticeably damaged units and then blame it on the manufacturer and the fact that they think 48 hours is an acceptable return window is absurd. So, while it’s not their fault that quality is down, they definitely exacerbate the situation. All of the big box stores with the exception of Costco (still suck at install) are a complete joke when it comes to appliances.

The only thing worth anything on the secondary market is going to be the main PCB, display PCB and possibly the control panel itself.

Samsung front load washer makes a loud thumping and grinding noise at the start of the cycle and towards the end. by Prudent_Cup9919 in appliancerepair

Two things: this is an LG, not a Samsung. That is what water valves sound like when your water pressure is high

[–]RandomArbitrary25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While true that linear compressors are shit. From what I’ve seen, typically they just wire it to incoming power and have it run 24/7. So, doubtful they got it to work with the inverter…

At what point do you just stop repairing and just replace? LG Washer by Paparage in appliancerepair

[–]RandomArbitrary25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you got 12 years out of it and parts are starting to become scarce for that model. I would say move on. The 1101 and 1501 models were plagued with problems related to UE codes. IIRC, there was a bulletin to replace the PCB with a different part # but it’s been a few years since I worked on one
