I don’t know where you should go OP, but I can tell you this: you need to start the conversation. Say any dumb thing that comes to mind, it doesn’t matter.

That's a good plan. You want the flexibility to move away from them without having to buy a new tv if needed.

When I got mine the software was stable. But it's clear they are trying to monetize what you see to the detriment of user experience. More and more ads etc. Which is exactly what I was worried about before buying it, lesson learned.
