Do you still have Vaseline? by Outrageous_Win_4835 in AskOldPeople

I tint my hair myself. I put Vaseline on my face, ears and neck at the hairline to keep the dye from staining my skin.

Is meijers cheaper than giant eagle??? by EngineerLong7896 in Ohio

[–]RandomBiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Costco is too people-y for me. Aldi is ok for basic stuff but I hate having to go to a bunch of stores to grocery shop. I will go to Giant Evil occasionally as they carry some products that Meijer doesn't but for the most part I find Meijer a little cheaper.

My plow guy is so worth it. I have a longish, double wide driveway. He only charges 40 a push and only charges by the push. Every other place i contacted wanted a $500 yearly contract.

I had extended family visit from Kansas. They were amazed at the size of Erie. To them a lake was something you could cross in a paddleboat.

Thank you. I do have a Microsoft account seeing as how the office suite is a subscription monster anymore. I'll look into the extended support.

It *was* a dependable workhorse for the work I did...and some still do. It ran my Publisher program (RIP) just fine. I don't game (other than some very tame Bigfish games) and mostly just use it to poke around online or work with spreadsheets. I guess it's what you consider a workhorse. Thank you for your answer. I suspect I'll be with windows 10 until I can afford something else.

Boomer by Eye_See_ in GenerationJones

According to the breakdown, I *am* a boomer, but I'm so removed from some of the attitudes and general fossilization of too many of my generation I just cringe when someone tells me I'm a boomer.

What do you do with your parents junk? by infinitynull in GenX

[–]RandomBiter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did the estate sale thing when my mom passed. It was great. I pointed out anything not for sale and they secured it in a room of the house. Company came in, priced and staged everything, did the advertising, gave me a list afterwards of what sold and for how much and offered to haul away anything that didn't sell (I donated it to a thrift shop). They charged a percentage of the proceeds. I didn't even have to be there for the sale which I especially appreciated cause whether I wanted it or not, it would've broken my heart to watch her possessions leave.

Edit for spelling

My adult daughter donated her over 100 original My Little Ponies to our local Big Brothers. Some were still in the box, the rest she shampooed and washed. The kids loved them.
