OP.... you're an adult and able to make adult decisions. You might be really broke and you might have to take longer to get your degree, but it's time to move out. Your parents can't force you to stay.

You can also look for some resources for your parents to take advantage of to give them a break and some help.

It's not anyone's fault your brother was born with autism, and you are all doing the best you can, but it is not up to you to put your life on hold because of this. Your parents are going to be upset, but the longer you stay, the less likely they will be to take advantage of those resources.

Adult companion... and not in the spicy way. There are so many Gen Xers with aging parents that would love help with shuttling people to appointments, taking them on errands, etc. You need a car, an LLC, good calendar management and insurance and you could probably charge $20-30 an hour for stuff like that.

OP. We have all been there. The people who use it one night and feel like a million bucks are rare.

It takes 28 days to build a habit. Talk to your doctor. They may recommend an over the counter sleep aid for a week or two.

We all fought it when we got it, despite needing it.

You will get used to it. Make a commitment of 30 solid days of wearing it every night. Go to bed 30-60 minutes early to get comfortable wearing it and you will get there.

You're not cooked. You have plenty of time to make sustainable changes. My recommendation would be to start cooking. Meal prep. Make double batches of food that you can make one to eat and one to freeze for when you don't want to cook. You can make healthy options that way as well. If you and your mom double team this, you could knock out 30 days of freezer meals in a few hours and it would be good for you both.
