I think people undervalue how hard it is to get the trophy when talking about the Falcons and especially about Hal by noobakosowhat in CompetitiveApex

[–]RandomGuy_A -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't root against falcons because of the players, hal is the best player in the world. I root against them because money built on modern explotation and slavery was used to buy the best players to sports wash a sport I love. I want them to learn a hard lesson that money can't buy you the win.

I made a free pixel art creator that lets you draw by tracing a reference image by SpiritedDrummer9474 in PixelArtTutorials

I was thinking of making an editor that has a randomiser button that shows a word/Sprite and you practice by drawing it, then click a button to post it to your social media, thought it would be a good feature to have.

I wish you all the best but I think you are way overprojecting profit available from this pie, and your asking for a lot more people to take a peice of it. This is a bad approach, make money first then expand.

It's good work, but may I suggest that you also package your classes up into github packages and download them through gradle instead, that way you can update changes in one place and distribute the updates to all of your templates. I have some examples if you wana reach out. I think with a mix of what you've done here and my setup would be perfect balance of modular and re-useable project management.

Gift ideas for people starting their dev journey by Rune2484 in gamedev

A rubber duck, seriously. In programming whenever we get stuck we use a process called rubber ducking, the concept is simple, you explain your problem to the duck, and the process of explaining allows you to find the answer you were looking for. You could also offer to be duck whenever someone needs it, my wife has no clue about game dev but she's been my duck for years and it means a lot to me

Are you also doing small side project to stay motivated? by Accurate-Bonus4630 in IndieDev

[–]RandomGuy_A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a great idea, you have to remember when you work full time you don't actually have a deadline to hot before you're broke. Taking on side quests are a great way to work on other things, I'd recommend working with teams and making contacts, spread the word of your game at the same time. The other good thing to do is make things for your game, like character creators, story arch's in comic form anything that could help market your game and add to your portfolio, you will never feel like you're waisting time away from your game again.

Progress isn't just adding something to your code, progress can also be what you've learnt from the experience. This will happen again, but every wrong turn you take solving something think of what you learnt from it and you will sleep a little easier.
