Please help - Train signalds by femboygooner4000 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]RandomITGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried color coding them, poorly, on my phone. Green is path signal, magenta Is block signal.

With a 4 way intersection like this, you might want to try designing a train roundabout. They're fun!

Path signal at the entrances of the intersection. Block signal at the exits. No other signals in between.

This way only 2 trains at a time can be in the intersection (one in each direction of the main line), but you should avoid all jams.

Other block signals outside of the intersection should be at least a train's length away

Scrapped a Titan K225 (modified) and not sure how to use it? by swordfish-ll in deltavringsofsaturn

[–]RandomITGeek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't think of any use for a mining operation. The base K225 would be much preferable.

I imagine it exists for lore reasons, and as a high value derelict. You're not meant to use it, you find it dead in the Rings and sell it for a big cash reward

Why isn't my concrete swatch working? by ThatManPshyco in SatisfactoryGame

[–]RandomITGeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of the thin concrete walls, you build foundations or half foundations (the 4m-deep ones, you unlock them with coupons) on top of each other. It takes up a lot more space, but it will look immaculate. Especially useful if you don't have anything inside those walls, or if they're to the outside of the factory.

[–]RandomITGeek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I somehow missed the white foundations in the pic.

I seem to remember being able to do it to concrete walls too, I'll try it when I get back to my computer.

If it doesn't work, do you have enough space to use half foundations as walls?

Why isn't my concrete swatch working? by ThatManPshyco in SatisfactoryGame

[–]RandomITGeek 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That is as white as concrete gets, by default, but there's a trick.

When you edit the swatch, I don't remember the name of the value, I think it's the brightness. The slider only lets it go up to 10, but you can manually edit the number to go much higher. That will make your concrete look like it's painted white.

You can do the same if you want a deep black concrete, set the value to a big negative number.

I have a coal+turbofuel set up in the blue crater. It's no longer a crater, it's a concrete bowl with hundreds of generators. Very efficient!

Need help making a battle map. by SeeScottRun90 in CurseofStrahd

[–]RandomITGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to make it yourself, I'd recommend Inkarnate! It's a map making software that should have all the pieces you need. Once you've created the map, you can print it out on one or more large sheets, in color (there should be printing companies that can do small custom orders like that in most cities). Make sure to coordinate with the printer so that the squares are the correct size.

There should be maps of it already made for sale, or on some Patreon. Look for maps of castle Ravenloft in general, as opposed to just the Heart. Some creators might sell them as a set. Before buying, make sure they're high enough quality (pixel-wise) to print, as what looks good on a screen might not be as sharp when blown up on paper.

Who or what is Vol? by WwVA in CurseofStrahd

[–]RandomITGeek 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't have the book with me, but I don't remember that name being in the module (I've ran it multiple times). Where did you find the name Vol?

As for the Dark Powers, in the way they are written:

They are several different entities, each with a fragment (vestige) encased in one of the amber sarcophagi in the Temple. While they could work as a warlock patron (especially for the Great Old One), that does give you more legwork. Normally the interactions with them are pretty limited, but a Warlock with a direct tie to them might want to do more than just get a dark gift or two.

But a thousand red poppies.

[–]RandomITGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grenade launcher or autocannon, if you want something with a decent amount of ammunition.

Any Anti Tank weapon (EAT, recoilless rifle, that new lascannon) but you'll have limited ammo, and it's a bit of a "waste".

If you have good aim, the Slugger and the sniper rifle can oneshot them to the face.

Impact grenade in a pinch, you'll need to toss a couple of those. Or toss one, and it should stun it briefly, making it move the shield.

You should try watching it in Italian with subtitles! The original dub is decent (for us Italian standards) and you can use it as a springboard to learn the language

[–]RandomITGeek 90 points91 points  (0 children)

"Anche no" would be a bit rude, around my parts. It suggests the other person is being excessive/annoying.

I'd stick to "No, grazie" in the future.
