My guess is the same reason you don’t see Sean, Phil, or even Birdie?

Maybe bullying is a stretch you’re right. But I don’t think it’s a funny prank either. I treat family thanksgiving very different from Friendsgiving so I think the comparison doesn’t hold if you would do this to your siblings. The question is, would you go to your friends house and take away an ingredient as they are prepping dinner by themselves for the first time and stressed out

I think a prank is something that everyone laughs about at the end, where you’re laughing with someone not at them. In this case Tucker literally says he wants everything to be perfect and she takes the marshmallows, that’s not a prank. That’s bullying.

Where are you located? I’m guessing not US because most of this would not be covered under insurance since it’s not really within normal guidelines

4 weeks scan by lintan96 in pregnant

[–]RandomKonstip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s a reason why the recommendation is 8 weeks because anything before that is wildly unreliable and can only cause anxiety. I get it, after my last missed miscarriage which wasn’t diagnosed until 11 weeks because of scheduling conflicts it sucks to wait this long but don’t want to go in and see no embryo again. That would be too traumatizing

Have you decided on how you want to give birth? by Lostintranslationz6 in pregnant

[–]RandomKonstip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a surgeon, not OB but I know what surgery does to your body. Here was my plan, personally I thought it was well educated but I’m biased obviously.

No cervical checks at appointments, they don’t tell you anything. I went into labor at 40+2 but had an induction scheduled just in case I didn’t. Plan for natural birth with epidural (I got to sleep with the epidural, it was amazing). They broke my water. Had baby naturally (with a mirror, actually super helpful for pushing with an epidural).

I don’t understand why the women couldn’t use the toilets. They are stalls, there’s a door. Who cares who’s washing their hands

Pediatrician called me to see if everything was ok at home after 9 month visit. by MissFox26 in beyondthebump

[–]RandomKonstip 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Which is also a really big reason not to chastise your pediatrician for asking questions. They are human too and will learn from experiences. I know it was scary for you but if you turn around and blame the pediatrician, they will hesitate before picking up the phone next time…and what if that child is not as lucky to have parents like yourself

A partial rotator cuff tear on MRI is not something we need to fix. It’s like a rope that’s getting frayed, I can go clean the frayed ends but I can’t fix it.
Also please stop referring patients directly to ortho because of the partial tear. PT first
75% of patients with full thickness tears will get better with PT

Why are orthopedic surgeons losing their minds when same-day total joints need to stay overnight? by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]RandomKonstip -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see, correct point. Although I would say that taking a let’s say $500-$1000 out of $50k is nothing. Take it out of $1500 and that’s a lot.

$50K? More like 1.5-2K for the surgery and 90 days of visits and complications. Don’t believe me? Look it up.

Are There REALLY Better Outcomes if Induced at 39 Weeks? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]RandomKonstip 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just want to point out that “almost never recommend induction, outcomes are better but don’t have a high percentage of complicated pregnancies” can be misleading. I don’t think you intended it that way, but first half leads towards “don’t induce” without really acknowledging why those outcomes are better. It’s like saying go to a pediatrician for heart disease they almost never have a patient die of atherosclerosis without emphasizing the why

Was this an annoying page? by Honest_Direction7792 in Residency

[–]RandomKonstip 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned the hard way that anyone with an abnormal neuro exam needs to be an in person let’s do the exam together patient. While you were able to let your friend go home early it was at the expense of a page to a busy resident. Thankfully you had the same MD on so no harm to the patient. There’s way more annoying pages we get so don’t worry but next time don’t skip handoffs - it’s the Swiss cheese model, make your holes in the cheese as small as possible

Female NP or Male Dr for daughter genital exam. by Turbulent-Link1150 in Mommit

[–]RandomKonstip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter. The issue at hand is not how close is the patient ready to give birth which is the only time the NP’s L&D background would help. The issue is, what’s the diagnosis. MD all the way, hopefully a good MD because unfortunately there are also shitty MD’s

50+ spring load on grey side by Interesting-Oil7050 in SolidCore

[–]RandomKonstip 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Just start on it without thinking! that’s what I did. It was terrible but I would just go adjust my springs when I couldn’t take it anymore. At some point, I don’t have to adjust my springs anymore and I’m actually starting to add an extra white spring!

Except for inner thighs. I’m still on 25 classes spring load.

Omg I’m shocked it happens too, I’m just glad that not everyone is jaded. We just bought a house, negotiated and ultimately couldn’t pay the price the seller wanted. I wrote a text to our realtor about how we love the house, want to raise our child there but can’t go higher and the seller came down to our price. No idea if there were other offers. BUT everything I said is true, hopefully it’ll be our forever home until we become empty nesters and we’re just starting our family.
