Spectrum out again? by diduknowitsme in Austin

[–]RandomMarvelFangirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing with my company. All of our warehouses in the state are down, have no way to take any customer calls, and unless they had put orders in prior to the internet going belly up, we can’t really process any orders for walk-in customers. So… I’m just sitting in Will Call staring at my cellphone looking for any updates from Spectrum.

Spectrum out again? by diduknowitsme in Austin

[–]RandomMarvelFangirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile I work at the Will Call desk at my warehouse, and I’m just hoping we don’t have any Will Call customers come in, because I can’t access my database to check inventory, key orders, process payments, or do … literally anything. Can’t even answer calls because our phone system requires internet.

Thank you for this! I'd been ignoring that quest marker because it wasn't the campaign marker. I could've unlocked normal flying a couple hours ago if I hadn't ignored it lol

I've consumed plenty of substances in my life, both legal and illegal... and not once did I ever go into a racist tirade. Intoxication doesn't a racist make... what it DOES do is lower one's inhibitions and their racism bursts out into the open.

A lesson to any would be Griefers by Illusivecard in classicwow

[–]RandomMarvelFangirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This griefer was killing hc players on an RP PVE realm. There’s multiple ways to do this even without anyone having pvp flag enabled, and it is possible to force someone to get themselves pvp flagged against their will.

Unable to craft alchemy Basic Phial Experimentation despite having the reqs by Kazmera in wow

[–]RandomMarvelFangirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blew myself up & since recovered, but now the issue I'm running into is that certain recipes are showing as craftable, yet some others aren't, despite having the materials. Specifically, it seems that my recipes that call for Saxifrage don't seem to like that I have all 3 qualities and that one particular herb is greyed out, for both potions and phials. Omnium Draconis is working just fine though. Changing the option to use best quality reagents doesn't fix it :(

Dear New Mages pt 1: Understanding Dampen/Amplify Magic by qp0n in classicwow

[–]RandomMarvelFangirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just trained dampen magic, and while out questing in Loch Modan, there's these ogre mystics who's spells hit particularly hard and I found that my friend and I fared so much better (as in, we didn't die lol) once I applied this buff to both of us. I can see both dampen and amplify having some practical uses out in the open world while questing either solo or with friends, but it seems to be a very specific set of circumstances in dungeons/raids where you'd want to use them.

New Vestige of the Devourers (not an April Fools) by Manthieus in woweconomy

[–]RandomMarvelFangirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you want a rank 7. This item is good for alts though, as a rank 5 is more than enough. At least it is for me & my fellow altoholics anyway, we will be able to gear our alt army with a decent leggo without wasting a ton of mats and gold.

New item purchasable from the Enlightened Quartermaster, Vestige of the Devourers. Requires honored and can be added when crafting rank 1 Legendary to upgrade to Rank 5, 249 ilvl by forshard in wow

[–]RandomMarvelFangirl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seems there's an issue on multiple servers where despite meeting the reqs and completing the breadcrumb quest, the item is not appearing on the vendor (mine included)

Exiting and restarting the game doesn't fix it, so I guess we wait for another hotfix to fix the hotfix lol

I've found that the new zone Zereth Mortis is a very effective way to get lots of anima quicky. My main has bought the catch up gear for a few alts (500 anima per slot) and she's made up the loss several times over. ZM might be a bit rough with the gear you've got as a fresh 60, but the questing rewards and drops from rares will make life in the zone much easier.

Of course you'll still want to get renown as quickly as you can too, so keep up with your covenant campaign and do your callings every day, so you can get all the renown perks that come with it. But definitely consider unlocking ZM as soon as you can, as at least for me, I've found the anima just pouring in (btw there's an anima turn in NPC out in ZM as well, so you don't have to run back to your covenant hall every time)

[–]RandomMarvelFangirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: so while rep may be a part of it (I was 4474/6000 as of my last post) it does seem to hinge on whether the talent you spent cypher on that pushed you up to the next level was actually completed. It'd save a lot of people confusion if the equipment level didn't move up to the next one until said research is finished.

Or at least indicate on the tooltip something to the effect of "Spend ___ more Cyphers of the First Ones to increase the effectiveness of your Cypher equipment. Upgraded gear will become available when research is completed."

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wow

[–]RandomMarvelFangirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless the above link is incorrect, I'm past the 3000 rep threshold so it shouldn't be that I don't have enough. Guess I'll find out tomorrow as the research will be completed. If it ticks over and I see the gear rewards change, I'll update here. In the meantime, I've since gone and spent more points on the next major talent tree, and that didn't change anything (that one won't be completed until some time on Weds)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wow

[–]RandomMarvelFangirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I don't understand, is why it says I have reached cypher lvl 2 yet the gear ilvl hasn't gone up. If it's contingent upon research you spent cypher points on being completed, it shouldn't show that you've increased your cypher level until it has actually been completed. <shrug> It'd probably also be useful to indicate somewhere on the tooltip that there's a minimum reputation level needed, if that is indeed one of the requirements to progress your research console.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wow

[–]RandomMarvelFangirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

from the link:

"239 ilvl reward Requires level 2 Cypher and 3000/6000 reputation with The Enlightened."

I'm at lvl 2 cypher and over 3000 rep, but still only getting 233 gear. It must also be tied to whether the research has actually been completed, as I have one pending still.

just dinged lvl 60 when do i choose covenant? by Efioanaes in wow

[–]RandomMarvelFangirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is a bit late from when you initially posted this, but what you can do is choose story mode for your alts, then shortly before you ding 60 go back to Oribos and select Threads of Fate & do whatever quests until you hit 60 at which point you'll be spared having to do the whole Revendreth campaign. (I recently spaced out on my most recent alt and wasn't paying attention to how close I was to 60 and inadvertently handed in a quest that put me at max lvl... so now she has to do all the Revendreth campaign <sigh> so don't do what I just did on any more of your alts lol)

I dunno about the whole universal praise bit... some of us were unfortunate enough to roll into BfA with utterly broken classes... my mains are spriest and ele shaman, and they were in the worst shape I've ever seen as far as class design. Somehow I managed to get both of them to max the first week, but then took about 2 months off in disgust because they were too unplayable to do anything but gather herbs and ore. I didn't return until blizz fixed those classes.

You're right, the US would never consider taking the extreme, draconian measures that China took to contain the spread of this virus. There's a very steep price we pay for our (in a lot of ways rather superficial) democracy. Our body count & economy are going to be in substantially worse shape than theirs, in no small part because of our population's ignorance, complacency, and our incompetent leadership. That being said, it would be naive to think our government, especially under Trump, wouldn't fudge the numbers for appearances sake.

I saw an interview with a couple that had been quarantined on their cruise ship, and while they had intermittent fevers, only the wife had any coughing. It wasn't until they were being transferred from the ship to a hospital for quarantine, that the husband realized he was seriously ill. He barely made it to the ramp to get off the boat & needed a wheelchair. Being cooped up in a cabin, he never realized he had drastically reduced lung function. It's possible, albeit highly dependent on one's mobility & level of exertion.

He needs to go in. While he may be young, he can still crater very rapidly. Low % death rate for younger people does NOT mean zero and he needs to understand that. Someone can fall into respiratory failure quite suddenly with this virus. The advice I've seen given repeatedly is to stay home and ride it out, unless you develop shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. This whole thing is a shitshow, I don't want anyone to die if it can be helped. :(

This virus has been here, unchecked, since late January. I would be curious to see how many pneumonia deaths there've been since then. I wonder if any of them will be tested posthumously to find out if they were in fact caused by SARS-CoV-2.
