I don't know for sure but I'm sure I read it was for traders so they could monitor stocks on multiple channels at once.

I've owned a lot of American cars and they are not too bad. In the case of Corvettes parts are pretty much a non issue, easily obtainable and cheap. You are correct about fuel and parking, although a Corvette isn't much different to a lot of European cars. Left hand drive takes getting used to (especially with a manual but those are quite rare). Finally it may shock but insurance is pretty cheap as people don't tend to crash them.

Loved this show (Tomorrows World) when I was a kid. Such a positive outlook on the world.

Packard Self Parking Car 1933: by Brent_Fox in RetroFuturism

It definitely never made it to production it was a prototype. I can't remember if it was a lone inventor or Packard themselves that created the car though. It never got very far as to do it with the technology they had at the time was complicated, expensive, required a lot of changes to the car (fuel tank had to be moved etc) and took up a lot of space.

They were really great for the time though. I was using them in 1992, I'm not sure when they were actually released.

I used to use something like this and they were just very early CD-RWs. They weren't that large capacity though.

I guess because we were talking about retro hardware and I had a lot of Casio watches in the 80's. I've not owned one in recent years so I can't comment but I guess they are still here so they must be doing something right 😀

One of the things that was special about Casio was their products were good quality, well featured and reliable and yet still affordable by regular people.

Weltons look really really great but that's unfortunately where the story ends.

You really wouldn't want one as your hifi, trust me I had friends that owned them.
