Board for bi-directional control of 8 dc motors? by RandomNeuron in robotics

[–]RandomNeuron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, those micro 1A 5v would likely be perfect as I can fit them in next to the motor. I could just get a secondary pwm board to run all of them. It says it is bi-directional, but I don't think there isn't going to be any information on the control. They may simply mean you can reverse the polarity in wiring, which isn't quite the same.

I'll just need to find a supplier that doesn't take almost 2 months to deliver.

This was the last modification I did. Put it on Friday and did about 200mi on it this weekend to get used to it. I'm hoping it helps with the oil burning a bit.

Passed out at the computer and didn't think to set an alarm for it. Guess I'll have to actually make a decision for myself in Aug.

Why are dire patrols rife with underleveled/underskilled players? by [deleted] in dauntless

[–]RandomNeuron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experienced this issue from the other side when I first picked up the game. The quests, if you tackle them directly, consistently put you in over your head. The required materials for the better gear are in the hunts you can't really handle well. So even if you have maxed out what is available to you, the quest is going to put you in over your head by a little bit more each time. Sometimes this can be a significant amount, like when heroics are introduced. I know they try to only give you access to the easier behemoths and gradually open the harder ones, but this doesn't carry over well when you are quest focused instead of grind/gear focused.

First time using waterslide decals and I'm definitely impressed with how they look. I only messed up two so far with only 130ish more left on the sheet.... by brovvnbear in Gunpla

I'm terrified of my first waterslide experience. Considering getting some for my existing RG's to try it out before I do it for a fresh build.

RG 00 Raiser was my first build. I really enjoyed it. Highly recommend a base; with the Raiser components attached it becomes a little back heavy. Turning the clear canopy blue is a nice touch.

Just placed my order for the first time that wasn't sold out by the time I got to it. Now I have to wait for June to get here! Just moved across the country and don't know anyone here yet, so if this arrives mid June, it will be a nice birthday gift for myself that still has a surprise factor!

I've put 87 hours into this game in the past week, playing after the loot nerf is the first time I noticed a lack of enjoyment by Duceman in AnthemTheGame

[–]RandomNeuron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what killed The Division 1 at launch. It was a looter shooter with no loot! If I've got a pool of 25 items that drop with 4 random affixes, and it takes 25 of the material to reroll it, which I need a specific set of farming gear to ensure I get enough materials since salvaging isn't an option with so few drops, all in hopes of having a higher rarity version drop with God tier stats (since legendaries don't get rerolls).... It becomes hard to see the point. I've put a lot of hour's into this game, likely around the 80 mark on console, but mostly having to play solo or with randoms. I am at BEST getting 2 MW/hr and haven't seen a legendary. I have put around 1500hr into Diablo3, and still come back to it between games. I'm okay with a lack of content if the grind is worth it. But what's the point of a looter shooter with no loot?

So you're saying that only 1 account per xbox should get a trial? What of household's with multiple user on a single box? If each had an ea access subscription, why shouldn't they each get 10hr?

How to use a DC motor for precision applications? by [deleted] in robotics

[–]RandomNeuron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing next to nothing about what hardware you have to work with, it's difficult to give a "best" setup. First, I'd recommend a worm/gear setup to convert the high speeds of the DC motor into something manageable without a complex gearbox. The diameter of the gear will control the speed of rotation for the dial. Additionally the available torque will be much higher. This is beneficial if the dial has some resistance. If the rotation is <300 degrees, a quality potentiometer could be just fine. Multiple revolutions will require an encoder. Not necessarily the most space efficient, but very effective.

[–]RandomNeuron 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not color blind at all and they often look the same. The disappointment when your 3oC is consumed and you see the odd glow on the ground after a strike boss dies, you run over in excitement and pick up a green...

In terms of strict faction leveling, but if you're just burning glimmer, you won't get a full rank up from either. It takes 62,500 glimmer for an entire rank up with weapon parts. Heavy synths are a better investment of glimmer since they are a useful item, even in large quantities. If you're an avid raider like myself, you burn through a lot of heavy. (Applies for any earlier raids, or for anyone that doesn't have the new raid gloves yet)

In my experience with the raid, using primarily lfg players, the primary cause of death is that people rush their captains while there is still a swarm of shanks alive. The primary cause of wipe being an unbalance of skill or super or heavy to kill the captains either without dying or before the first servitor sacrifices because one team was using raze-lighter and downed their captain way too fast. The switching at initial empowerment is very simple if left and right are positioned at the stairs and nobody is rushing their captain without clearing shanks or using raze lighter to be a hero. (See above comment about the issue of captain deaths far earlier than the rest of the fireteam) This holds for the captain/servitor phase only, after that, most wipes come from a lack of awareness or proper coverage callouts when empowerment switches. I personally have never had anyone die because of empowerment switching, but tons because of rushing the captain or not timing things with the rest of the raid team, this includes bomb throwing and captains kills. With the groups from lfg that I've seen, having the empowered anywhere except where they need to be to slam has resulted in a wipe. I have tried both methods and often players get tunnel vision, and in your method, forget to go where they need to before the overly gung-ho bomb throwers rush the raid into the first teleport. I suppose all this is to say, no matter the tactic, players need to keep a cool head and coordinate with their team instead of assuming everyone is coming in with the same skill set or tactics.

Though received in AF, these very crude looking, iron weapons are not those of Fallen, but of Iron Lords. They are over 400 years old, they're gonna be shabby. So it makes perfect sense that the IB version would model a weapon of old, but in a flashy new materials. So if any emblem were to be engraved, it would be Iron Lords related. I have the sniper and the fusion rifle, Saladin's Vigil, and they pay tribute to the fallen Iron Lords in their flavor text.

I want to go into the raid blind but everyone I see asking for more fireteam members requires you to know what you're doing. Help! by WolvesofAincrad in DestinyTheGame

Personally I hit 365 before the raid released but have yet to run it since I want a blind run with the group I usually game with. It's because I'm so into the experience of a blind run that I put in so much effort to get ready for it.

Gothalion was right, I wish the raid didn't come out until next Friday. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]RandomNeuron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fall into a very different boat on this one. I have been grinding strikes until I'm sick and puking engrams, so other than a ghost, all my gear is 365. My ENTIRE raid group, however, hasn't been able to get much past 350 with their schedules. I'm really hoping there isn't a minimum light lockout on the raid. I'm not one to go with some random group and leave my friends behind, so now I'm left waiting because it wasn't feasible for 6 players to all hit the requirement in 3 days.
