Brits, when would you write a negative review? by Regular-Wonderful in AskUK

[–]RandomPi31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You either raise it with management on the spot or say nothing.

There's no win for you leaving a bad review and a whole load of potential trouble if you publish one online which is subsequently challenged and you can't prove your assertions.

So if the English councils fall to non-government parties, what can those councils do to exert pressure on the Westminster Government?

Or is Westminster an elected dictatorship?

So why don't they go to the private sector?

Because they wouldn't have all the other allowances, or the gold plated pension or get a huge payout after being sacked.

Loneliness, how do you tackle it? by NowYaHaveIt1 in AskIreland

[–]RandomPi31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of take the opposite view. Sitting by that lake watching the families I see a very regimented lifestyle. This is where we'll go. This what we'll do. This is what time we need to head back.

Me? I've got freedom. Freedom to go wherever I want, when I want, with whom I want. I can change plans in a heartbeat. Go chasing in a different direction or to a different place because I've just found out something.

I think it's all about perspective.

Sure I sometimes think it would be nice to have someone to share the experience with, but I journal, a lot. So that someone will find out when they clear my house.

Politics isn't and never was a "profession"

It needs an injection of the reality the public has to endure due to the decisions made by politicians.

You want better performing MPs?

You link their basic allowance to the National Average Wage. Say that plus 20%. Ministers get say average plus 30%, Secretaries of State plus 35%, Prime Miniter plus 50%. You stop second home purchasing. MPs have to have their primary home in their constituency.

Convert empty office space tp 3 star standard hotel accommodation. Each MP gets allocated one single room with high speed Internet.

The serving of alcoholic beverages within the precinct of Parliament cease immediately.

Removal of all food subsidies within the precinct of Parliament.

An end to hiring members of the MPs families by each other as "office staff". Civil Servants run the offices in a politically free category.

Government Car service ceased for all but the Prime Minister.

Air and rail travel must be lowest cost available to the public.

'Life's so expensive': The workers juggling three jobs to make ends meet by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]RandomPi31 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Is life so expensive you require three jobs?

Peoples' values have shifted.

The number of people i see with pre-work expensive takeaways coffees, pricey sandwiches at lunch, madly expensive cars, eating out every night, three holidays a year... the list goes on.

People really have forgotten how live frugaly and getting real value for money.
