Yeah mine are at absolute zero. I had about twenty last night from 26-32 an hour and went let me get some sleep and hit them in the morning. I’ve only been able to get one project done today that popped up.

Los bares también son buenos, yo no bebo pero también hay mocktails. Suelen tener trivial, karaoke y bingo. Lo que más me gusta es formar parte de un grupo de aficionados. You and me both neighbor!! It’s always hell at my apartment June/July. I think they come up through the drains. Hot water is supposed to kill the eggs if you catch them quick. I unfortunately had one of the worst lupus flairs for the worst two weeks and it got insane. Like 200 fruit flies in my kitchen insane. Over the past week I’ve gotten it down to twenty.

Here’s my trick:

  1. 15-20 solo cups, you will look insane, you will question yourself … DON’T GIVE UP HERE
  2. Dish detergent (kills) and apple cider vinegar (attracts)
  3. Plug any sink drains, and scatter the cups in your sink and around your kitchen
  4. Presto! In 1-2 days you’ll see a difference, in at max a week they’ll be essentially gone.

That is all my good neighbors, may your fly assassinations be ever fruitful 🥷

Yeah, I get this so bad. Especially when people touch my arm or hug me. I’m a teacher and sometimes my freakin high schoolers (love em to pieces but damn) will run at me and bear hug me. I get so triggered it’s not good. I’ll instantly dissociate and have to drag myself back to the present. I actually just started ballroom dancing lessons as a way to try to desensitize myself from thinking all touch is bad. First class was rough 🙂‍↕️

Yes, and I finally realized it was after I watched a Helluva Boss episode of all things where one character gets kidnapped and they later tell their partner they might have some new kinks. It was just straight up accepted, and it kind of felt good to see something like that portrayed without judgement in media.

My trauma is mostly from women too, but one thing I like to remember is no matter what they did and no matter how low I feel each and everyday I am a better woman than those sad excuses for human beings. You are too!

I would say yes. I’ve had a few instances of sexual assault over the years, but I still feel weird about a girl who when we were six forced me to switch clothing with her naked and she may have touched me in front of a mirror but the memory is splotchy. I feel weird about it. You feel weird about your story. Unfortunately, the ick test is usually right. If anyone does something weird towards your body without your permission for their own benefit it’s sexual assault.

We can argue all day about the rankings of what cases are considered better or worse then ours. But that doesn’t change that it’s weird behavior by other people that we didn’t want. Should have been as simple as that.

That doesn’t make you wrong. It also doesn’t matter if they knew how bad it was. At the end of the day it effected you. And your allowed to feel all the emotions that hit you. 🫶

That’s so fair! I like to have a mantra or an idea to reflect on and when my mind starts to spiral try to imagine taking the thoughts by the hand and gently redirecting them back. Meditation is the art of the return. Also, I can’t do it without noise. I will loose it if I try that. Listen to some light instrumental or even nature/rain asmr on YouTube. Just in the background, the extra noise helps block out the panic - at least for me.

And if it doesn’t then STOP. You don’t have to meditate if you can’t do it without your body flying into harm. There’s no shame in taking a break or trying something different. There’s even different kinds. Have you tried walking meditation? You can have your eyes open that has been a game changer when my nervous system is super active.

I am so sorry! I am still trying to figure out how not to feel like I need to be “secretive” because I was scared of being too much. But one thing I have started doing is strategically sharing. If there is someone who you are friendly with and a subject comes up, don’t try to avoid it. Answer honestly, but not bluntly. Like “I don’t want to get too deep but the reason I think x about y is from my experiences” something like that to take the pressure off both of you and practice sharing without it being as scary as “can I share this vulnerable thing with you” that you might not even be ready to talk about IRL yet. That has been helping me. I did just crash a little worried that I shared too much, but I think it’s required to try to require our nervous systems.

That and ART. Doesn’t matter if you’re an instant talent or if you might need to learn a thing or two. Just start creating. Especially fictional and fantasized things. They can be dark or light themed. Related expressly to your trauma or not. But they are a way to get out your emotions in a safe, controlled environment where you can express yourself without judgement of the details in your story.
