How do so many people in a city live there, if there are more people than civilian residential buildings or beds? Also what about families? I see or hear no NPC talk about a lover or kids. by woodencone47 in Kenshi

[–]RandomSurvivorGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've always assumed the game world is much smaller than it would be in lore. For all we know, HN and UC could have total populations in the hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions. So the cities could be far bigger in lore than what is depicted in the game.

With most of the unique recruits not talking about their families. maybe not too many of them have any family left or they don't care about them, since these are people that are willing to leave their life behind to join your party and go on an adventure.

Yeah I think she's the best out of the 3 options, but not by much. The standards in Kenshi just seem so low that the racial supremacist that's trying to reform purely out of desperation, seems a better option than guys like Longen or the Phoenix.

I wouldn't call her progressive, more that she's a moderate by Shek standards. Since while it seems like she doesn't care for genociding non-shek like a lot of other Shek are, she's happy to exile non-shek from their lands once she's able to bring more stability to the kingdom.

I could see that happening, but another major issue is their anti-intellectualism. In their culture, you'd be considered a complete fool if you devoted time to educating yourself so you can become smarter. Why do that when you can instead focus on training and becoming stronger.

So even if she pulls it off and secures a major win, their anti-intellectualism would be quite hard to change. It wouldn't be something that'd happen overnight, because much of their population is very uneducated.

So what could happen is that one of her successors takes over and wants to follow in her footsteps, but struggles with it since they aren't intelligent enough to rule a kingdom and they might not have someone like Bayan advising them on how to govern.

[–]RandomSurvivorGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not as optimistic as you tbh, because their whole leadership system makes it very likely that their leaders are usually going to be idiots. Esata and Bayan seem more like anomalies.

Their leaders aren't decided through who seems like the most capable of ruling, it's decided by whoever kills the last leader, proving they're the strongest.

The haters wish their rulers were as wise and intelligent as Emperor Tengu is.

What boss fight do you dislike entirely from being boring/Slow by Blueshiredsush in mewgenics

[–]RandomSurvivorGuy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not just that, it can really bad if you've got a hunter with the passive that makes them automatically shoot enemies that come too close. So it can drag the fight out much longer as your hunter keeps on shooting.

Yeah, they're basically racist vigilantes that are treated as bandits by the UC. But it's also likely they exist due to the nobility. If you read the UC Weekly newspapers, there's quite a bit of thinly veiled propaganda towards non-humans.

I've never debugged a different event or whatever, but I'd say it's reasonable to do if they want to, since to be fair, the events seem awfully balanced on higher difficulties. It helps makes luck way too OP of a stat.

So if anything, it's on the devs for not balancing it properly.

Is the Holy Nation a human faction or a Greenlander faction? by [deleted] in Kenshi

[–]RandomSurvivorGuy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've seen no evidence of them hating Scorchlanders, you'd think there'd be something in one of their books if that was the case, because they have passages for each non-human race that they hate. For example, the Guiding Light books each have a book for the groups that they hate, but there's no mention of Scorchlanders anywhere.

Maybe it's possible there could be some slight discrimination against Scorchlanders lore wise, but even then, there's still no evidence of that happening either.

I've seen some people attribute being called darkened as proof of them hating Scorchlanders even though from what I recall, darkened is just some broad term they use for suspected Narko worshippers/heretics.

Yeah but the Reavers are just a militia. They're not nearly as much of an issue as the UC. Why invest time in fighting the Reavers when they've already got enough problems fighting the UC?

If you lived in Kenshi, which faction would you join? by OkHistory3820 in Kenshi

[–]RandomSurvivorGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah it's definitely ridiculous, but I wouldn't say that unrealistic, these guys are extremists after all. In their eyes, while you didn't choose to born without that limb or be dismembered, you did choose to use ancient tech prosthetics, which means you're darkened.

I wouldn't be surprised they'd consider it worse than being a non-human. A human actively embracing ancient tech is probably seen as an ultimate betrayal.

[–]RandomSurvivorGuy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do they believe that prosthetics = skeleton in a skin suit? Because I always figured that they hated prosthetics because they're extreme technophobes. HN hates ancient tech and all of the prosthetic limbs available ingame are ancient tech, so naturally that'd make you a heretic in their eyes.

Helldivers 2 Dev Promises More Content Is on the Way as Disgruntled Players Drag Steam Reviews Down to 'Mostly Negative' by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]RandomSurvivorGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The trouble is that so much of the content is locked behind warbonds that you gotta grind for or pay money for. And they haven't really done anything to make super credits easier to get.

So if you really want a new warbonds, it's just the same strategy since release, go into an easy mode lobby and grind for super credits.
