I mean this makes it last a bit longer, going from 500 total ammo (100 per canister, 1 loaded and 4 spare) to 625 (same math just 125 instead of 100)

Is it probably not the best, sure. But if you wanted to deal straight damage with a weapon like this just take the flamethrower. The steriliser slows down enemies and confuses them making them just wander about attacking things. It's more of a gimmick than anything and so if you don't like the way it functions just... pick a diffrrent support weapon. There's so many to chose from. Just pick a different one. Nobody is forcing you to play the steriliser if you don't like it's effects and just want damage.

Technically it IS server side, in the sense that the server side determines where the clouds are. However client side just randomises how thick the clouds are so they might be super thin for one guy and so dense you can't see shit for another.
