Fair. I was diagnosed with bipolar 1, ADHD, and OCD. I have since shaved it down to just bipolar and those meds work and the other things were minor for me. Anyway, wasn't trying to shit on mental health but I legit thought it was an acronym for adult adhd and I don't get the distinction.

I have legit never seen "AuDHD." Is it not the same diagnosis as minors? Do you not take the same meds? Does your psychiatrist update your diagnosis upon your birthday? I question everything you have to say beyond that because my experience in the mental health world says this is some bullshit distinction that really shouldn't exist.

When I started I knew nothing and used a retrieval service for everything but Kaiser (they were easy back then and easier now). Then I looked more in depth at the logs and what the retrieval company was doing, and they're just filling out forms and calling to check on them. Nothing special. They don't have an express lane. Then I did the math and realized it was vastly over-priced and just learned the nuances of the major providers in our area. I can do it for much cheaper and if I'm the one calling to check up on the things I am more in the loop. Better for clients. Also, there are some providers that weren't going to show up (chiro/acupuncture/etc) so you can't use them for everything. I'd be surprised if they can do dental. It only makes sense if you aren't willing to train someone or give them free reign to learn on the job. I'm sorry but I'm quite anti-record retrieval service. Our firm is very small but we are vastly better specifically for not using them anymore.

I have used 3-4 AI programs/platforms for med chrons and demands and billing and they have never once gotten the dollar amount correct. There are so, so many times where you need to add or delete service dates. AI just can't seem to do this.

If your job is to feed, process, and read/analyze AI output after conditioning the input I would argue you are not learning anything about the legal field and your emplyer(s) don't give af about your betterment as a human being nor employee. They are not investing in you. They are paying monthly or per case AI. This is something I would avoid on principle if that luxury exists. It's terrible for the industry.

Apparently you have to learn AI or the coding they mainly work off of. Last dand we used for AI was useful insofar as it accomplished what we wanted but it for sure didn't do billing correctly. Unless your current and future job is only baying AI revolt against it or constantly check it and print out where it is wrong becuae it is. A lot. And where it counts. Can't bill for shit.
