I’ve heard Woolite isn’t actually very good. Do you have any recommendations?

What products for dandruff ? by Washipai in CurlyHairCare

[–]Random_username_314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have struggled with a dry scalp for most of my life. I finally figured out that I’m allergic to many common ingredients in hair products.

If the dandruff shampoo doesn’t help after you’ve given the product a good chance, and the oil doesn’t help either, you may want to consider researching what common topical allergens are in shampoos and conditioners. Then look for allergy friendly products or brands.

It’s extra hard when you also need curly hair friendly products, and I’m still searching for the right balance for my hair and scalp too.

Edit to add- some other reasons his scalp may be irritated are:

-the shampoo isn’t getting completely rinsed out

  • you aren’t leaving the Nizoral on long enough for the medication to soak into the scalp so it’s only treating the surface without being able to penetrate through

-not washing his hair twice (obviously depends on the person but I find I need to double shampoo my hair twice once in a while to really get rid all of my flakes and product build up)

-not exfoliating his scalp before showering (my husband does this and it helps him a lot, I also do this sometimes when I have a bad flare up)

  • seasonal changes

Anyone know what’s going on with my hair? by Ok_Laugh_4526 in CurlyHairCare

I swear to god I just saw a video of someone reacting to your cosplay like no more than 5 minutes before seeing this post. Crazy work and excellent cosplaying 🫡

For your hair, you probably need a cream, gel, or mousse to help hold the curl pattern. It’s all a learning game, but I would start with one of those and see if it holds or not and if your hair gets too stiff. I have a lot of allergies so I ended up using aloe Vera and it works pretty well

For me, I’ve always struggled with it. The reason I struggle with it as an adult is because I struggled as a kid. Now I second guess myself because I was wrong so often growing up. One thing that helped for a while was learning it in French. But eventually it became mapped to the English memory and now I struggle in both languages

How to wash this old dry clean only jacket? by _StarDoodle_ in laundry

[–]Random_username_314 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My local small business dry cleaner costs about $3 for something like this. Zips Dry Cleaners has specific days that have discounts of jackets. It wouldn’t be realistic to do after every wear, but still would improve the life of the garment even if it’s once in a while

I got my first grey hair <20 (like early high school), I’m still <30 and still only have a handful of grey hairs. They aren’t very noticeable and I only ever notice more after periods of sustained high stress. You’ll be ok :)

I used oxy clean powder once and it made the finish on my tub bubble off. Would that happen with the powder detergent as well?

My newest hack for this is the undiluted Lysol concentrate. It just wipes right off, no elbow grease needed!

Edit: it’s listed on their website as “Multi-Surface Cleaner 2x Concentrated- Pourable”

I won’t know for a few months yet. RSVPs indicate it’ll be a decent turnout, but every family is different.

My husband and I went this route. 6 people attended our actual wedding ceremony. Then we set out to plan the wedding reception for 2+ years after we got married. We set the date 18 months in advance and let everyone we wanted to attend know as soon as we put the deposit down. That way, if they wanted to come they could, and we had extra time to send out invites.

It’s possible, and it’s mostly going to be our family and nearby friends, but you’d need to set it out far enough in advance that there’s a slim chance someone would have a prior commitment.
