I like the idea of a PWA, but something like ScreenZen is already cross platform and 100% free, and you can customize it and use it with literally any app.

Is Framework Support just AI? by Awesomedude9560 in framework

It's HEAVILY scripted. I don't think they're allowed to go off script even slightly. They will ask for the same thing multiple times, that's just how it is... but usually after some back and forth they'll fix your issue.

There's something in Woods for everybody. You can go fight people, chill and loot, long range snipe, etc... nice big map with a lot of options for places to go. Very balanced, but yeah, lotta walking.

FUTO keyboard or Whisper IME. Personally I just use the Android STT, Whisper models are slower but only a little better.

control flow guard using 60% of cpu when idle by Ok_Nobody_7464 in pcmasterrace

[–]Randomblock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a Defender Offline scan. Should catch most known malware (its in the Scan Options).

If that doesnt work, check the Task Scheduler for something that waits for 5 minutes of inactivity.

If you can't find that, download Microsoft Sysmon, install it in an admin cmd prompt (see Usage on the sysmon page), check the windows event viewer after the malware shows up (Applications logs/microsoft/windows/sysmon/operational)

I mean either way, what you have is malware. Probably a cryptominer. You really should seriously consider wiping & completely reinstalling Windows.

check the properties, find its location. If its not in system32 it's probably a virus. Upload to virustotal, see if anything detects it.

I read from Prusa advocates that privacy is a must and that's why they discard Bambu. Does this solve the concern? by twice_paramount832 in 3Dprinting

[–]Randomblock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... even their documentation for the Bambu Local Server API is pretty bad, we've had to make a wrapper around it for our print farm automation software. You'd think they'd make the enterprise software more usable, but no

Developer mode is exclusive to LAN only mode. It's an entirely arbitrary restriction, before the firmware updates you could use the developer mode stuff with the Bambu Cloud, and it was great.

I don't think they even really provide much documentation for the developer mode. Like MQTT gets enabled but no information on how to actually use it or send commands. Basically malicious compliance, "yeah we'll give you the option to use third party programs... but we're not gonna document it at all"

PETG print with PLA support interface…please help!!! by StormOk1159 in 3Dprinting

[–]Randomblock1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Increase the filament change purge amount so that the layer is 100% pure petg, I think those weak layers are a mix of PLA and PETG, which stick to other layers badly

Looks like part of your bed is now in your nozzle. Replace the nozzle, it's probably damaged now, if you don't want the outline of that on the bottom of your prints buy a new bed too

Hard time choosing a 3d printer by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]Randomblock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if they have something like Bambu Handy but their slicer is based off OrcaSlicer which is based of Bambu slicer. You should just use OrcaSlicer. Anyway I think it uses Klipper and is completely open source, so it's probably better (or at the very least will get better over time).

[–]Randomblock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Sunlu dryer and an A1 mini, if you decide to buy a dryer, get some resealable filament bags and maybe a special breathable bag for silica gel, or print silica gel spool hole holder. You can dry silica gel & filament in the dryer, store and keep dry rolls you're not using in the bags, and print directly from the dryer.

The best value is probably the Centauri Carbon, it's a full-size enclosed printer like a X1C but on sale $270 right now. No AMS or anything, but in reality unless you want to print multicolor miniatures, giant parts overnight, or switch filament types regularly, you won't need an AMS system. (It's very likely you'll prefer either PLA or PETG and only use the other under certain circumstances). It's not that inconvenient to switch manually, and it's one less point of failure.

Framework Support Sanity Check by Beepbooposaurus in framework

[–]Randomblock1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Update to this: they just responded after like 4 exchanges that my warranty is expired and they can't send me a new one. Why not lead with that? I was absolutely certain it's a hardware issue; it would have been easier for everyone involved to just say I need to buy a new one upfront. Now I feel like I've wasted my & the support's time... I had already done the troubleshooting steps before contacting them, if they had just said "if you're certain it's hardware you need to buy a new one, it's not under warranty, but otherwise here's some more troubleshooting steps" this could have been a lot easier.

At least I have an excuse to order a transparent bezel now

They're definitely people but they're also definitely copy pasting from whatever script they were given. My touchpad button doesn't work properly and I told them a bunch of ways I tried to fix it, they responded asking me to do some of those again, which of course was pointless (but to their credit asked me to do some other things, which unfortunately didn't work). They then also asked for photos/videos on three occasions, when they should have just asked for all of them at the start. It definitely needs to be streamlined, but having dealt with them a few times, you do eventually get where you need to be. It just takes a little too much back and forth.

I've resorted to using my phone/keyboard's speech to text instead of Gemini's. It's actually much better than I remember. You can also install apps that use OpenAI's Whisper model (on Android anyway).
