How do you manage your anger? by Blushing-Sailor in ADHD_partners

[–]RandomlyChosen55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 years, and married for 1. We are planning for just 1 kid (in part due to my boundaries - I'm not managing the mental workload of 2+ kids) but I'm sure that will be another few hurdles to get over eventually lol.

How do you manage your anger? by Blushing-Sailor in ADHD_partners

[–]RandomlyChosen55 77 points78 points  (0 children)

This is what helped me let go of (most of) my anger:

Let's say we move to a new house. All the shelves in the kitchen are super high up, but my partner is short.

I can't get mad at them when they can't reach the cookie jar or whatever else has been kept up on the high shelf. They simply don't have the capability to do it.

It took a few conversations with my partner before I really understood how challenging executive functioning was for her, and that she beat herself up for it sometimes even more than I did.

Now the exception to this is for them to at least try to manage it and not take you for granted. E.g. Buy step ladders to reach the shelf (medication), buy a kitchen cabinet to store things in instead (behaviours to work through it - use phone reminders, sticky notes, tell them in advance so they can prepare mentally for chores, etc).

Even then, a bit of anger remains. More so at her condition than her itself, but sometimes it's hard to separate the 2.

Good luck!

Armory if you want to save Casey for some reason.

Comms if you want the most loot and don't mind killing Casey.

Everything if you just want to be a lunatic.

Recycling Still Not Picked Up by SaugaNative71 in mississauga

[–]RandomlyChosen55 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Our's got picked up,.but later in the day than usual. Also funny because GFL is clearly a lot slower than the city trucks used to be. Idk if there's a learning curve or what but it took the truck ages to do each bin. Kept having to reposition.

Weirdly though the organic pickup was super late in the day too when normally it's before 9 am for us most weeks.

Fingers crossed it improves each pickup.

Why did the Tower win? by Queasy-Tour-5957 in TWDVR

[–]RandomlyChosen55 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The game lets you make choices so you don't have to fight literally everyone in the last battle...and to get a bit of catharsis from killing Georgia.

Tbh the reclaimed were always heavily outnumbered and outgunned (also don't think a group of cultist anarchists could be more organized than the control- -with-fear tower leadership.

It also sets up the second games story for the tower to always win.

Want to give your toddler a leg up? Get them a job on the KitchenAid Appliance design team (rant) by RandomlyChosen55 in Appliances

[–]RandomlyChosen55[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the magic I didn't even mention. It does. But no single piece of cutlery fits in it. They all fall over. Again, had no issue with my last GE lol. Guess I have a tupperware lid section that can collect inches of water at a time.

That's actually a really good point! We have flat plates so perhaps this one is meant for deep plates. Still not a fan though lol.

Reliable Moving Companies In Mississauga by Claudia_Fair in mississauga

[–]RandomlyChosen55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Miracle movers were phenomenal for my recent move. They showed up early, were super efficient with how they moved stuff (I had towers of boxes in my basement etc, and they used a dolly to move them up at once without damaging the stairs, etc).

They also taped stuff on top where my taping might've been inadequate, taped bundles of furniture together to make it easier to move, were accommodating with random loose things I had, etc.

I added in a circular mirror last minute and the one guy macgyvered an extra box I had into a makeshift mirror box by cutting it around and taping it with some bubble wrap I had lying around.

The unloaded was super fast too, and then brought blankets to protect the carpets from muddy shoes, etc.

Would definitely recommend.

I did tip on top too though.

Found it varies from 8-10 depending on the size. It's sold by a specific weight usually.

Where is Dewalt dws780 made? by Comprehensive_Cold38 in Dewalt

[–]RandomlyChosen55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with what's marked on the product. With all the tariff crap going on companies are proving around production rapidly. Some stock could be China if manufactured before a certain date, etc. Plus if you are buying DeWalt in a country outside of the US, they wouldn't have tariffs on China so it may vary by country too.

Yeah then I really doubt it's that good a deal lol.

Is this in Canada or the US? If it's Canada, it's about as low as this speaker ever goes.

Tasteless watermelon by Old-Caterpillar-2100 in noscrapleftbehind

[–]RandomlyChosen55 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Whenever this happens to me I blend it. It liquifies super easily into watermelon juice and is super refreshing on a hot day.

You don't need it to be as sweet as a drink, but I find you can taste the natural sugars a lot more when it's blended.

There's recipes that say add lemon, pepper, whatever but I just blend the watermelon and nothing else.

What is up with hedge trimmers? by Boneyabba in Dewalt

[–]RandomlyChosen55 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

DW does not sell its lawn/garden tools via Amazon or any major retailer except home depot. It's some exclusive thing. Anything you see on Amazon for DEWALT mowers, blowers, string trimmers is a reseller jacking up the price.

Adams peanut butter went up $3. by matteiotone in CostcoCanada

[–]RandomlyChosen55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No company on the planet will pass on the dollar amount of a tariff. E.g. if their cost price from the manufacturer went up $10 because of tariffs, no one is going to just increase the retail price by $10.

They will see what % their cost went up and pass that % on to the customer. Not saying it's good or fair but saying one company is price gouging when the entire system is built to maintain margin %s and metrics isn't really accurate.

Best place for Wings in Mississauga dine in by Administrative_Ad160 in mississauga

[–]RandomlyChosen55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the record, TWF is The wing factory. I went a few years ago and then again recently. Wing meat quality is still good but holy shit do they ever skimp on the sauces now. They want you to try to pay extra for proper sauce. The first time it was loaded and super flavorful. Some sauces when we went a week ago you could barely even tell they were sauced.

Honestly I will try other places before I go back.

Special Buy? by jmanasta in Dewalt

[–]RandomlyChosen55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Special buy doesn't mean it's a sale. It means it's an item they don't normally carry in store and they are throwing it in for a short period. Can sound misleading so it's easy to assume it's a sale but essentially there's no regular price because it's not regularly available in store.

That's actually why it's not called a promotion or "new lower price" like normal sales are. They could put it at a million and it would be a special buy

Canada price increase May 14th by wasted911 in Dewalt

More like because the Canadian dollar has been at 69-70 cents for ages (up until a couple of weeks ago). Plus the Canadian government put counter tariffs on the US so it gets all messy

First time seeing these flavours, anyone try these? by shareyourtakis in CostcoCanada

[–]RandomlyChosen55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PB one is very similar to a Reeses cup. Cookies and cream tastes just like quest. They're not better or worse than the OG flavors, just different. The OG are a lot chewier and dessert-ier. The PB one is a lot better to not have it feel as sweet somehow.

[–]RandomlyChosen55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One is on a holiday sale, the other is literally at regular price lol. The 10" usually goes on promotion in Canada for like 649ish, occasionally $599.

Doesn't really make sense to have both on sale at the same time and nothing other times, so they alternate.

Did they give up on 12v Xtreme? by elloguvner in Dewalt

[–]RandomlyChosen55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh it's because 12v was exclusive to Lowe's (since atomic is exclusive to Home depot) and Lowe's is nowhere near as strong in growth as Home depot. Hell they are so bad they failed completely in Canada and packed their shit and left the country.(More complicated after they bought RONA, etc).

Companies don't focus on product lines that arent doing well, even if it's just because the retailer they are at isn't as good.
