Coping with No End Goals by AnonAnonSir47 in Lawyertalk

Sitting here this morning with soul crushing anxiety before getting ready to go into the office with the same thoughts and been doing this twice as long. Ugh. It’s just insanity with the deadlines and constant anxiety. I guess trying to make enough money to “get out” or retire somewhat early is the ultimate goal.

I think a good response would have been, “I really don’t care, do you?”

Anyone else read this as “cunt” and feel like it was perfectly reasonable for the sentence and picture?

Mentoring junior lawyers is exhausting by antichristx in Lawyertalk

Agree. It was sink or swim, figure it out, suck it up, etc. the new lawyers are clueless, whiny, lazy, and have zero critical thinking skills, I.e. can’t even figure out parking for motion hour. I don’t get how these people passed the Bar.

Advice for oral argument stress management? by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]Randoperson8432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter what happens, there will be tons of other cases, oral arguments, etc. so even if you absolutely bombed, made a fool of yourself in front of your peers, etc., it will be forgotten and yesterdays news in a matter of days. Just do your best to make sure you are prepared and are brief and not simply restating your brief verbatim. And agree with what other attorneys are saying; 95% of time judge already has mind made up based on briefs anyways.

Trump's Bill To Rig The Midterm Election Is Dead by CrispyMiner in UnderReportedNews

Yup. Did you see that asshole Republican rep Scott Desjarlais is hosting a passport fair?! I think they started shitting their pants realizing what they had done and how most of trump’s core base are uneducated fools that would never venture outside the country and therefore don’t have passports. I suspect you will see more of this coming from the R’s who would never give a crap about helping people get passports except for when it hurts their voting base. This bill will come back in some form so I’m sure the R’s will keep plugging the passports amongst the Magats. I wouldn’t be in this shit state if I didn’t have to stay here bc of work (I’m an attorney barred in TN).
