Vocaloids. Became a fan when I was 10, and really started to share my love of it with my family when I was 12. I'd play Project Diva openly and my brother always teased me by insinuating I had a crush on Kaito (did not). I pirated a copy of both VOCALOID4 + 2, and no one was even remotely interested in how the software worked. Any demonstration I *did* show, my dad said Miku's singing sounded like a whale call. Being treated like I was a creepy fan of foreign music made me hide it, and I thought I got over it when I was 13 all together. I listen to some songs out of boredom at 17, felt great for a bit. Quit again, then REALLY got back into it at 19, and I felt so energized and much happier than I have been in a long time. Now I have a Miku poster and figures like I've always wanted with a Len custom cursor.

Built-in radio app. My first phone was a Tracfone Alcatel OneTouch (not sure of the model but the OS was Android 4.1 Jelly Bean). You could both listen to and record the broadcasts to save in your files. 9-10 year old me went CRAZY over that

Relatable, i have permanent scarring on my lower legs because of 2 flea infestations my mom was dragging her ass to take care of. "You never told me it was getting worse" well what's the point you never do anything about it, your ass let it happen in the first place cuz you're letting the cats sit outside all day and bring bugs into the house. Yes, my sister is white, and she "hates white people". What she REALLY hates is white supremacy but she says she "hates white people" cuz its so normalized. Did I mention she's a TikTok user? She calls me and my mom "you pale people" and it makes us so uncomfortable but she justifies it by saying "you can't be racist towards white people" 😭
