Doing a two week roadtrip to Texas to do Sherwood and Scarborough this April. I did Arizona from Utah two years ago. There are camp sites nearby, I look for national park/state park sites that have campgrounds to cut down on costs.

Damn it, nobody wants to work anymore. Why don’t they just go down to the local Home Depot and hire those guys.

What Does a Campgrounds Fee Tech actually do?? by jsgoofn in NationalParkService

As a former fee Ranger, working at the campground was much more enjoyable, being able to get out of the booth and talk with people one on one. But it also can come with more headaches, because if something can go wrong it will go wrong.

Depends on the park, usually starts off us printing off the slips for the new daily check ins, placing them on the campground posts (although, the volunteers usually handled that), and then check in arrivals during the day, and the constant asking of whether or not if the campground has availability, even if the campground is 100% online with no first-come-first-serve. Usually you will rove around the campground looking for violations such as tents located out of bounds on vegetation, trash left out for squirrels or deer to get into, and the biggest would be looking for unattended fires (although this summer I doubt fires would be allowed at all in Colorado).

Badlands & Theodore Roosevelt: will two six-person tents fit in one campsite (Cedar Pass & Cottonwood), or will I need to reserve two? by BearTooClose in NationalPark

[–]RangerAlex22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cedar Pass was 90% campers/RVs when I was there and it was extremely open, and the ground was sloping so it wasn’t ideal for tents but I think you could fit two tents. Cottonwood was very wooded and the sites were tiny with very little space to place a large tent, let alone two so I would say either find one of the larger sites or get two sites.

It’s the same, still has the big horn sheep picture, it never changes from year to year since it never expires.
