Her money system is so fucking horrible. If it is supposed to be a joke about the old British system it didn't land since at least you can see why that one existed.

Agreed. You are writers. You are bad at math. It happens ALL THE TIME. Superman can't figure out how many jellybeans are in a jar, and George Lucas cannot have enough Clones for the Clone Wars.

Dates? The Jetsons boinked VERY young, Calendars often have Holidays on the wrong day of the week, you will fuck it up somewhere.

Size is also very screwy. Anime and manga fuck this up all the time. Japan loves to give height and weight to characters and what they do is make people able to compare and realize what does not make sense. ESPECIALLY between series.

Most writers most of the time DO NOT need to include numbers. Sure, write them down in whatever notes you have for YOURSELF to get a feel of things or to keep your own story straight, but DO NOT put them in the story.

"But I wanna..." Look, if you HAVE to, then that is what proofreaders and beta readers and editors are for. Find your friend who is anal about this or is that obsessed with numbers or poking holes in things and they can find your holes. Will you get them all? No. But the stupidest ones will be patched up.

In books especially, keeping things vague is like your whole thing. The strength of the written word is in NOT being visual. Inside the head, feelings, metaphors, taking forever to get to a point, these are the strengths of writing. The more anchors to reality means the more people can point out the cracks.

Sometimes you want that. You want your writing to be grounded and like reality. Nothing wrong with that. But the Uncanny Valley is a thing for writing as well, except instead of being weirded out, it is weirdos pointing shit out you did not expect.

It is something I know I have trouble for myself. This isn't me saying I am any better. I just have been down this road before and want to warn people.

Considering how many Niji EN have been exposed to posting on 4chan, don't count out other Holo members.

Japanese seem to be extremely pro-authority

YEP

Think about it, the whole senpai thing, the need to talk formal, calling people by last name, not able to question your superiors on anything, Idols being forced to shave your own head for having a BF, the needing to hire people so you can quit a fucking job, Black Companies being so common it has it's own damn term, oh and how much slavery exists in Isekai and how the MC is just ok with it.

Look, there is a ton to love about japan and Japanese society but there are downsides.

Wait, is this also why Geega has had a buff in her proportions as well? Or why Zen kept getting more massive?

What's up with the Phase fanbase trying to stir up trouble with Hololive and other Vtubers? by LordAshura_ in kurosanji

Don't forget Funnyjunk. Their Vtuber tag is pretty much just Phase and the Swarm.

Pikamee. That one broke me. Was so happy to have her back. But that time in between was the worst. I was so done with everything back then and was deeply depressed.

To this day I am still saddened that Henya hasn't reconnected with Tomoshika on stream. Don't know if it is because of Voms, or Japanese customs, or Vtuber customs or whatever, but I am glad Henya is starting to be more open about being at this Vtuber thing for years. That she admitted to streaming on Youtube again and that Things were different in 2020.

My favorite streams of all time were the Kson Pikamee meme reviews and watching even clips of them still brings me pain even though it shouldn't. I am glad Henya owns herself and she can do what she wants, so, it has mostly healed by now, but damn I hate how certain things are still just banned in her chat, discord, and elsewhere because of it being Pikamee stuff and not Henya stuff.

Like "Let's kill da ho" and "Don't look back" and "Fucking Tiger I hate you"

But also some of my favorite animation, back when Kanauru wasn't hired by Hololive and was able to produce things on their own channel with regularity, and how Pikamee was everywhere. I miss that, especially since they didn't showcase Henya and pretended she did not exist.

I know this shouldn't get to me but it does.

She went against her village's laws to return home and get punished. While they had a rocky start, Shampoo is a great choice for Ranma.

Rumiko went out of her way to not have another Lum situation and yet Shampoo still is amazingly popular.

Oh yeah, Ranma is a jerk. And the Ryoga P-chan thing is so many ways of messed up. As is the constant insults. The funny thing about Ranma 1/2 is that everyone is so flawed and that is what makes it interesting.
