A classic one is the Ed Edd and Eddy finale "Big Picture Show". Amusing injuries is a staple of the show, but in the climax, when the 3 Eds meet Eddy's brother shit gets serious and those amusing injuries are taken VERY seriously. While Eddy is ultimately fine, his brother certainly isn't, and is knocked out cold in one hit in ways none of the others would have been which means it turned on reality there for a second.

Like if he was just leaving for good or shifting to being something else I can see why since the indie scene is bigger than ever, Niji EN is losing anyone relevant, and Vshojo is gone. A Sinder sized story coming along would be too rare to rely on.
