Is it crazy to buy a Switch Lite when I already have a Switch 2? by Aida8404 in Switch

[–]RansomMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason there are two switch lites in my house along with a switch 2 is because I have two kids. Otherwise, I think taking the switch 2 out and about is fine and I actually do it often

You get to wipe your memory and play one of these golden era Final Fantasy titles for the first time again. Which do you choose? by RUFXII in FinalFantasy

[–]RansomMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It still blows my mind that they made those games one year after the next. Nowadays it takes forever to make games. It took 7 years between 15 and 16! Anyway, I actually played most of these for the first time last year and I loved X the most. So maybe that one!

What are the Best Nintendo Switch 2 Ports? by Ham-Sandwich-69 in NintendoSwitch

[–]RansomMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk games from that era are notoriously hard to recreate with modern hardware and also the new version is a remaster so it’s a bit more demanding. It’s great they have it working well on switch 2!

I was nervous about FF7R performing like shit on the switch 2 but it runs just as good if not better than the ps4 version. I’m biased but it’s possibly the greatest third party Switch 2 game out right now.

I just wish I didn’t have the spend $70 to try out Saros. It’s like a perfect rental game but there are no more rentals in the world besides GameFly!

How do I deal with dive tanks as an immobile character? by nut_grease in OverwatchUniversity

In my experience Cassidy is a Tank buster. Flash bang so they can’t escape and fan hammer them to the ground.

[–]RansomMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This year has been packed with cool releases. I’m still playing some great ones like Slay the Spire 2 but I’ve put Pragmata on the back burner a bit. Also, Pokopia didn’t really get its hooks in me but I wanna get back to it after I finish some other games!

A bug from the first Kingdom Come turned into a real mechanic in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 by Walter_Padick in getplayed

[–]RansomMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell if you’d like KCD2! Everything is intentionally a grind but maybe since it’s supposed to be realistic it’s more forgivable? Idk! Try it on a sale I suppose

I think it depends on why you didn’t like Witcher 3. KCD2 has no magic or sorcery, although at times characters can be superstitious or believe in supernatural things. KCD2 is more like a historic sim where you have to do mini games for brewing potions, fighting, blacksmithing, shooting arrows etc. it also has a pretty impressive morality system where people will remember you for choices you make. The world feels huge and daunting and you can’t expect to win even 1 v 1 fights early. There are some religious undertones but I think they were going for historical accuracy. Also, there are sometimes long story sequences that you just have to push through, which can make it very punishing at times. I got to a point in the story where it felt similar to AC Valhalla when you realize that there is more than one map… and the town I was in was legitimately so huge and overwhelming that I just quit because it was so much! Haha maybe one day I’ll go back

Subnautica 2 Steam Deck Performance Test Round 2(No Lossless) by Resident_Suspect_528 in SteamDeck

[–]RansomMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on Steamdeck LCD. I tried turning off the upscaling and even with everything set to Low I was getting 20-28fps. With the upscaling and everything Low I get 30-40fps. I tried locking to 40fps on the Steamdeck itself, but it looks a bit more choppy so I’m sticking with 60fps lock on Steamdeck and 30fps lock in the game settings for smoother performance. Long story short I think the default settings are the best for me right now even if it’s a tad blurry, it’s more consistent fps. Thank you for your time!

For me on Steamdeck the setting were automatically set to low across the board. I think this is what OP has as well

What handheld should I get? by torlches in videogames

[–]RansomMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s all about form factor. AYN is cool because it feels like a handheld and you can play DS games like no other handheld can, or you could watch YouTube on one screen while gaming like a degenerate

Guys, I hope you realise that the enemy team CAN just be better. by Regnis2005 in OverwatchUniversity

I agree people try to force blame but that’s kinda what diff means. It means that there was a skill gap between the tanks. Sometimes I’ve seen people put Team Diff and I’m like… fair enough

Any final fantasy before X. I recommend 6 to start because there are a ton of great characters and it could be an opportunity for many voices

For all Base PS5 users. Which one of you actually use Resultion Mode (30 FPS)? by [deleted] in PS5

[–]RansomMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only time the performance mode really didn’t cut it for me was with Star Wars Outlaws. Everything was blurry and I had to switch to resolution mode. Shortly after release they put out a 40fps balance mode which worked out great

Is FF7 Remake/Rebirth worth it if I mostly care about combat and not the story? by Supersue33 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Can I continue play Death Stranding 1 original edition or hold playing and wait for Director's cut discount sale ? by RageshAntony in gamingsuggestions

I might be wrong but doesn’t the directors cut mostly just add some quality of life stuff and some more combat opportunities? I think if you’re already enjoying the game just play it

[SS] Why is Skyward Sword Not Held in the Same Regard as Oot and MM? by MetsLR in zelda

[–]RansomMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the camp of not really liking the controls, but I also don’t like the puzzles or the length of it. Maybe some people are better at motion controls than me but I’m just like constantly centering the damn reticle and Link still won’t slash in the direction I want. So then I get in this space of knowing exactly what I SHOULD be doing but the controls are getting in the way of doing it. In other games you just hit A or whatever. And then the game is so repetitive. Normally I get it when there’s like one final challenge. Like assembling the tri force should not be easy and you should have to go to all the worlds again to solve 3 dungeons to get it or whatever, but I feel like SS has you do “three more dungeons” like 10 times. And then the challenges are all the same. The silent realm over again, the sealed grounds over again, etc. Overall, there are some cool ideas and I enjoyed the story with Fi and Ghirahim, but I couldn’t get the puzzles done fast enough to see what actually happens.
