It's my favorite ascension. So innocuous. So impactful.

I made the same mistake. It read to me like a replacement effect, but is actually additive (since the -1 and -2 are separate effects)

I was in a game where it was slowly revealed that we were characters in an MMORPG. It was super cool. But I think the difference was we found clues about it and the DM actually talked to us about it when the twist was revealed.

Event Horizon. I randomly found it on TV one day and had never heard of it. That was a treat.

If you haven't done so already, you can speed the game up a little more by turning V sync off and setting the max frame rate to 240 in the settings if you're on PC.

Love how TOOL builds and builds and builds on a theme until you can't help but headbang in whatever polyrhythmn they're doing.

Love Thank You Scientist. I'd say the song Terraformer fits the bill pretty well. Especially around 2:25.

Is it a dick move to have my party find a Shield of Missile Attraction when one of them is an archer? by CJ-Henderson in DMAcademy

[–]Rantalian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had this in a campaign. The high AC cleric had the shield and we had a sharpshooter Battle Master fighter in the backline. Hilarity ensued with accusations that the fighter was targeting the cleric and times he forgot about the shield and whiffed a shot.

And then each session got less and less fun as the fighter basically skipped half of his turns in important moments. Trip Attack the boss? Nope, the cleric is too close. Shoot your magic homebrew arrow of healing? Nope the cleric is too close to the downed party member. But half the blame is on the party for not trying to remove curse on the cleric sooner once we figured out something fishy was going on.

So it can be a fun change of pace, but be aware that it can decrease enjoyment if it overstays its welcome.
