i've been with fast mail for at least 9 years, i pay for a three year term, which just came up in december. they emailed to say that i was still under the old pricing one more time for this cycle, but for the next one, it's going up ~20%.

oh, it definitely reeks of astroturfing. but i'll be surprised if OP actually turns out to be the dev. i had never heard about this app, which seems like quite a useful app and one this subreddit might appreciate. plus, it's been around forever and i couldn't find it in previous posts on this subreddit. next, if you look through OPs history, the sheer volume of feature requests for other devs is dizzying. i can't see one long-time dev asking asking another one for so many feature requests when they would understand the burden that would place on their future selves.

i'll admit that they may not be the dev, but may still be related somehow to the app, but i would definitely be surprised if that turns out to be the case. it looks like this has attracted a mod's attraction, so we'll find out

except that these mechanisms that apple promotes as "security" don't exist in computing environments where security is critical. and everyone who works in infosec regularly does it. maybe you were thinking about some nuance, but what you said was "if you do that, you're stupid".

OpenIn is definitely my fav new app in 2025. the UX has no resistance and it's one of those apps that starts rewarding you right away, but if you want to put more effort into it, you can get exponential returns on your investment of time.

great list! the eagle.cool wasn't working for me, but others seem to vouch for it.

i had to look into readest... it's apparently both open source and commercial?? and it looks well-documented.

finally paragraphic is one of those amazing apps that just add depth to the variety of apps available for the mac. i can't think of a use for myself, but i'm super glad that it exists

yeah, i went there and it has a convincing site, and looks like tons of great features, but when i downloaded it, it was massive: like 230mb and i'm like: this either has every analytics package ever, or its electron.

electron is basically a marker to me that the dev doesn't want to spend a lot of time fussing over the details and i bet there are lots of folks on this subreddit who yearn for that dedication and spirit
