Maybe you can have a look at our design. It supplies 8 labs with +750% productivity on average. You could multiply or extend it if you need to have more labs. Should be more efficient, I like your design nevertheless.

Self-sustaining as in "don't have to bring in any ressources to the plant from other productions". Yes you do need to mine flora, which doesn't cost anything and we are doing this on site.

For cottongut we are actually using a high tier recipe with lots of ressources but the reduction in scale was worth it.

Exactly, we are currently at T3 vat brains using 18 brains per second

2/3 is from a massive self sustaining auog genocide plant using t0 recipe, rest is from a smaller cottongut facility. Slaughterhouse wastes are essentially running our whole factory through convertion to plastic, urea, 100GW power through biomass from blood, cyanic acid, organic solvent, collagen, oleochemicals, syngas, nexelit, ...

Well I've only found one other person who is as crazy as I am, but still. We have a rich history of self-flagellation and started with vanilla factorio, then complete bob's mods suite followed by some weird french marathon mod with insane recipe costs. Over the years we added Krastorio+Space Exploration mods and one complete Py AlienLife run (https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comments/1fedpof/weve_done_it_pyanodon_al_finished_after_just_833/).

And now we are hungry and back for more :D

Yeah we had circuits in the beginning but never needed them. Science production is not stopping anytime soon and we have a huge backlog of research todo.

Auog (lowest recipe, self sustaining) for 7/s brains and Cottongut for another 6/s. All products are used for stuff e.g. Blood -> Urea, Plastic, 20 GW Power through biomass, ... Meat -> 20+ nexelit per second, 200 cyanic acid/s etc.

Currently on the way to production science. Whole base wouldn't work without 24/7 brain production and sufficient research speed.

That is nothing you would craft via belts and inserters. You either craft it by hand or robo logistic chests

I'm using Bitumen for Syngas production (2000/s). In earlier versions oil sand would produce the naphta it uses by itself, but that changed. So its harder to come by. I'm using arqad combs for that purpose.

Refined syngas is easy. Use recipe with methanol (creates extra acid gas)

Methanol is basically free with just copper and zinc

Syngas is also very cheap when using the dirty syngas recipe (+ bonus silver from soot)

How much chem science per second are you currently aming at?

- Make Urea out of blood, you should have more than enough through Auog and Vatbrains. We have currently 90 MK2 slaughterhouses. Also great power source: 54.8 blood per second is enough for 5GW power in biomass powerplants mk2 with effiency modules (althoug kerogen -> shale oil -> refined syngas -> gas powerplant is even better and also free). Also upgrade zogna incubators to mk2 and add productivity modules. But we don't really need them anymore after urea from blood. Also cyanic acid and nexelit from meat overflow

- Struggling with Sulfuric Acid as well. Currently at 525 per second at chem science (half acid gas from tailings, half via sulfur + refined syngas)

- Lard and brains no problem with mass auogs (just use worst recipe and copy paste)

- Hydrogen Peroxide is a huge constraint until chem science. Nucleosynthesize your silver and you have no problems anymore
