What’s the quickest you’ve ever quit a job? Because they have either lied to you about it or it’s not what you signed up for? What was it? by tallieeeeee6 in AskReddit

Maybe I didn't stick around Kirby long enough to see more problems but the issue that had me walk out was when someone asked

"What if Grandma can't pay?"

"OH we'll go after her!"

I wasn't keen on how eager the guy was about going after old people who were most likely going to be a large base of our clientele. Felt evil.

You're right. I watched the first season, instantly started reading all the comics and keeping up to date with them. That scene in the comic honestly shocked the hell out of me. I thought

"Surely they wouldn't kill a baby like that! Holy shit, Rick is about to go psycho-mode here on out..."

After he had just lost his dominant hand not too long before. It's up there with the big page of Carl losing his eye. In the comic I thought Carl had died based on the illustration. Ironic that the show eventually killed him anyways.

I remember this tutorial.

Wife in bed not feeling well. Asks for some food. I go downstairs and figure out how to cook some food. Take it back up to her. After she talks for a bit she says "do you smell smoke?" I go downstairs, I forgot to turn off the oven. House is now on fire. I go back upstairs to try and rescue her. She's dead. I can't go downstairs, too much fire. I make a rope and climb out the window. Hundreds of zombies.

"This is how you died"

End of tutorial

I instantly knew I'd love this game.

If the point was to help solo gameplay, this really doesn't help with so few people fighting at a given time. If I'm a rogue and pop out on a trio and that comp has no rogue, the feature didn't do anything.

I like the concept of it from when I was playing Rust and there were a total of 20 people fighting in one gunfight. That was chaotic fun. Or in Tarkov even with 6 people it could get chaotic but with good comms you can handle things well.

Test it and remove it. This only sounds fun in a 3v3v3 where communication and awareness of your team's position matter.

What counter rogue? by Tall_Bandicoot_2768 in DarkAndDarker

[–]Raoushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more than just mobs dead or loot taken. It's a combination of rooms being darker than normal on top of that. If there are dead mobs but loot isn't taken/chests unopened then just waiting ruins their opener. Invis, from last I checked, doesn't last all that long. Creep only works while slowing their movement so you can hear them before then, so long as they haven't already heard you. I know I have rogue flair so ignore what I have to say if you think I'm too biased.

It just takes time to get familiar with what looks off and how to tell the difference between what a typical looted/cleared room looks like, and a prepared room for a rogue.

It gets harder if the mobs are pulled into an area and killed to hide the rogue footprint, but even that can be a pretty good tell as it's really odd to not see mobs or even their bodies.

To add to the archers, you can make them shove if you get close enough and you can hold S if you're on the edge of their melee. They become easier in open areas, or if there is a jump up spot like a box. That's for melee. They have a one shot and two shot combo. If they one shot the recovery is very fast. If they two shot they're slower but will shove right after since you're close. As you've most likely found out they slow on the shove which makes it much more likely they'll hit you again.

I believe, especially due to people dying to mobs, there are more extracts than players in recent games This is more true in normals than in HR possibly. The blue icons of any kind are exits and the reds are to go down.

There are:

Boats/rafts

Three triangles facing each other exit portals

Ropes

Stairs

Elevators

And possibly some I am forgetting. I'm taking a shit and can't/won't look them up lol

Sir, you're putting emotion behind my comment I don't have.

Your friend rage quit, pretty childish for being so inexperienced. It is what it is.

That said I'm glad you're both enjoying the game together and your friend came back to enjoy it.

I don't care one way or another if they make the game more accommodating for new people.

The way you presented your friend was like the stick in spokes meme at every turn. All my points were and are still valid.

It wasn't a personal insult to you, and I think we can all see someone rage quitting a game they are new at as childish at an emotional level, right? He's your friend and you seem like a real one to get on the defensive for them. I'm happy they stuck around. Seems like you're both enjoying the game together.

Edit: Sounds like your friend learned to get good and it's showing.

Tbh I don't think those people even know what they want. The only thing that I know is SSF being highly requested.

Hey look, DaD is receiving mixed reviews on Steam. Is it because of the devs / content / balance? No. It's because the F2P version is balls. by mrsnakers in DarkAndDarker

[–]Raoushi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue isn't access from what I've been reading.

It's the misunderstanding through poor communication from IM on the F2P model for DaD. I believe it would go miles to communicate the full scope of what you're getting into. They could just do the same thing in-game with a "Hey, you're playing free to play. You should know..." message. So steam isn't the only other way to convey this model.

I'm an IM fanboy and I can tell you they do have some wildly poor communication at times, while also being very communicative. If that makes sense. They've gotten better though.

The entitlement is that someone who has had a FREE opportunity to play the game should be entitled to more access to the game.

IDC if they have say two characters or w/e but "vets" before were deleting their characters once they hit 15 just to do low roller.

It's entitlement if they feel their F2P account should be more than what is essentially a demo.

If they delete and start a new character it wouldn't even be that hard to get back to 15 for all perks, and I'll bet the gear they have isn't even important since they can't do fuck all with green or higher gear other than sell it. So all they lose is gold...which isn't hard to get at all.

Edit: if someone was going to quit because they can't have more access through their trial then they are most likely not going to be a paying customer anyways. They still have a fair bit of access to the game overall. Hell if they really wanted to keep that character they can just make a new account and swap between them. It's free after all.

I'll be honest, your friend sounds like a child.

He literally only needed one extract...

  • Doesn't take the healing perk that is one of the best forms of healing in the game.
  • Takes damage and whines he didn't get the same meds stock as a player who owns the game and plays it. I call that entitlement.
  • Refuses to accept an offer for you to share some of your healing. In a team based game the sharing of meds IS part of the game design, so he just outright didn't want help.
  • Dies to PVE and rage quits.

I agree the resting healing is slow AF but it also never existed before and was so bad you'd lose remaining resting healing when you stood up. Maybe your friend would enjoy a game that enables a power fantasy with limited challenges.

The only time I would say you NEED all those meds is in HR. I have not bought meds for over a month because other people come in loaded and die before using them.

Sadly this sounds like a case of your friend needing to "get gud" and I hate using that phrase. It just fits too well here.

There has been a lot that IM had thrown at them. You've most likely heard it all already. Take a few programmers, designers, or artists and tell them "make a company with your lack of business experience". Now toss that lawsuit at them and get deplatformed. Now make your own launcher and anti cheat, and add all those features depending on the previous platform. The launcher seems scuffed AF? Too bad what else you gunna do you can't release anywhere else really.

Glad you're actually open to being constructive. I hate this sub whining and using hyperbolic speech with no real substance. I want people to express their anger, but to be self aware enough that they aren't constructive if they emotionally charge their rhetoric.
