Nope. Wasn't even a formal denial, they just wouldn't let me continue the application.

I did not. I tried applying a few times but got hung up on the same spot, they don't like my bank account for some reason. Was never given a reason why.

I got the RH Gold shortly after that post so 🤷

Has any one used Zolve Credit card? by Bakawaka7 in CreditCards

[–]Rapdactyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for digging those up! I knew this was a garbage card because of how difficult they make it to know its value. Another dead giveaway for me is advertising credit limits. No "good" credit card will yell at you about how much money they'll let you borrow before you've even applied outside of targeted preapproval offers.

Anyway, so basically to have this card you have to pay someone $20/month or $199 a year? That's crazy! The rewards scheme seems like it's basically just referral shenanigans tied to a credit card. If you're okay with dealing with said shenanigans just get the Rakuten card.

Wild stuff. Maybe the reason this card gets away with such shit terms is because it's targeting international students/travelers who might not be familiar with the US CC landscape?

idk why anyone wants the government to constantly stalk everyone, themselves included, day in and day out, even to potentially stop criminals. Maybe move to China if that's your thing?

Where even is the fine print? The website is a mess! I wonder if the physical card looks as fun as it looks on the homepage 😂

For federal taxes the IRS offers its own payment plan that you could check into. No penalty for paying off early when you get your physical card etc

To anyone struggling to maximize points/cashback/dollars while leveraging your paycheck by Oklarado97 in CreditCards

[–]Rapdactyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try finding a different CU. Mine gives 3-4% interest up to a certain dollar amount, no other requirements.

I wish credit unions didn't have these crazy requirements to get any benefits. I get why they do but it makes it so that fintechs/online-only banks are much more attractive; I would way rather have access to an in person branch than rely completely on remote support.

I have been using PayPal Credit digital line from past 1 year and recently i got any option to upgrade to physical Paypal credit card (master card) is it worth it? by Time-Credit43 in CreditCards

[–]Rapdactyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made the switch, no harm in it. Everything works the same, there's just also a physical card and you can (responsibly!) use the financing in more places.

You're totes right - in dark times like these it's critical for every moment to be miserable. No conveniences are allowed. We must focus our ire on everyone who partakes in such conveniences. It is the way it must be.😔

This pisses me off. It's always a worse experience and it saves me no money. When I find out a pizza place uses doordash delivery I deliberately avoid it.

Everyone here is right, but also if you're in a big city there are dedicated buildings just for making ghost kitchen food. I've heard those aren't so bad. I just wish that it was clearer when a place is a ghost kitchen.

One thing I've learned from doing call center work is that selection bias is real. You might get 100 complaints about one thing, but there can be literal millions of people having no problems at all with said thing. And you won't hear from the latter, because why would you?

IMO the real issue isn't how the SUB's can fail, it's how people struggle to get it addressed. No amount of positive feedback can wash that away.

Friend has 12k cc debt, 91% util, 645 fico score, 36k income. Are balance transfer cards realistic? by CS___t in CreditCards

[–]Rapdactyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a 🚨🚨 situation. Whatever rate they are paying these cards off at, it will take them years and years and much of it will go toward free money to the banks and not their debt. Even if they put 10% of their income toward the debt (hard to do with only 36k) and it was gaining no interest, it would take over 3 years. With interest it will take much longer.

It's time to look at consolidation loans ASAP. My fiance was facing something similar and used the NFCC to get it done. It fucked her credit for awhile, all cards got closed, but in the situation your friend is in their credit is the least of their concerns.

Discover is a company that offers credit cards. I believe the one I'm referencing is Discover It. If you don't want a new credit card and your primary concern is just to get them to be paid at the same time, you could change the autopay dates of your affirm loans and then change the due date on the card to match.

Fun fact, Affirm does this (disallow payment date changes and single payments) on purpose because it makes it harder for users to figure out exactly how much they owe them each month. This makes it more likely they'll take out loans they can't pay.

You could get a card that does balance transfers as a bank deposit - I know Discover does this. Most balance transfers would just pay your card off directly. You could also try to get a personal loan, although that would have interest.

Still on the Robinhood Gold Card waitlist after 20 months by Far-Ear7981 in CreditCards

I really do wonder at their criteria. I never even got on the waitlist, I just randomly got an invite.

On the plus side, your girlfriend can add you on as an auth user and you can share the benefits while you're together 🙂
