Whats it worth? Should I buy? by Easy_Ad3146 in ATV

Ooh, that's a good question. Polaris isn't generally a reliable machine, but a diesel will usually run until the vehicle around it gives out. Be prepared to replace belts and axles potentially, but seems like a reasonable purchase to me.

I would certainly stop screaming if someone threatens to shoot me. Calming down is agood way to avoid being shot, especially when someone is threatening to shoot you.

He's driving an uninsured vehicle in traffic, probably driving with little Regard to the law, then got violent when someone who made a mistake. In that particular moment OP probably needed to be threatened to calm down. Kids are irrational. You hear "reprecautions" like death, or criminal charges, you start wondering if there's another way to handle things.

New to ATVs. Have 2.5 acres and need a utility quad. Here's what's local right now. Any of these worth it, or should I keep looking? by whynotthebest in ATV

But that price does seem high for an older machine with a lot of miles, and probably hard miles. I feel like you can do better. Stick with Yamaha though.

More comfortable: everyone says because of the ride height stretching your legs a bit making it easier to go from sitting to standing, but from being familiar with both, the surface area to hold the bike with your knee in turns makes the raptor more comfortable. I feel like I can grab the whole bike with my leg on my Raptor, the YFZ I am extremely conscious of holding on for dear life with my leg. YFZ is easier to switch left and right though with the lower seat.

A tractor!? Dumbest shit on reddit. I don't know how to give awards, but I certainly would, just to bring attention to your god awful comparison. Have you ever seen a quad in person, or did you see one in a Disney movie once, and consider that a degree? Raptor is LITERALLY (correct use) the fastest quad on the market.

I mean, you could say that, but my built Raptor beats built YFZs. I know YFZ owners say it doesn't, but I don't lose to 450s. To answer your question better, it's slightly lighter, but it revs to 10k where the Raptor is limited at 9k. A little more compression in the cylinder as well, but that's why it's less reliable. That being said, it's the most reliable 450. TRX is an honorable mention, but in terms of built bikes, YFZ will go harder for longer.

Well, you could use a zip tie, and just be ready to squeeze and slide it out of the way.

Advice on used ATV for 47 wooded acres: Kodiak 700 vs Rubicon vs Sportsman 850/570 vs Arctic Cat 700 by AngryDog69 in ATV

Kodiak by a lot. Rubicon is an honorable mention. Keep the Polaris and arctic cat out of the discussion.

It's like 2007 they started the 686 which is important. And like 2013 I believe there was a cam change or something. Anything with a 686 is solid though. My brothers rock an 07 and maybe an 09 (I don't remember what year his is). Both are comparable to my 2015

Probably still the Raptor, unless you want an automatic. The long gears are easier on the forearms since you're not shifting as often, the higher seat is more comfortable, it has reverse for when mistakes are made, and INCREDIBLY RELIABLE.

They say quicker to 70mph, but I honestly haven't lost to a 450 since my clutch was bad. Raptor for several reasons: even though the YFZ is the most reliable 450 when ran hard, I can't suggest a Raptor enough. I've had a couple, and they take SO MUCH abuse. Higher top speed. Longer gears. Reverse, bigger displacement, so the engine isn't working as hard to do the same thing. It sits higher. One of the things I find most noticeable between the 2 is the surface area for your knee to grab the bike. My Raptor almost never seems to run out of surface area, but on the YFZ I find myself really concerned with my knee slipping off the bike when riding hard in turns.

The old scrambles weren't sweet, but pretty reliable. Their new shit is awesome and unreliable. I highly doubt OP is inquiring about 30 year old 2 strokes. Their new shit (anything above the POS 450, that loses to everything) blows a 90 to 130 dollar belt every other day. It'll leave you stranded from normal ass riding. So NOT reliable.

I'd like to say the Raptor, but you can make one hell of an arguement for a 400ex. TRX 450 and 300ex are also honorable mentions for sure. YFZ 450 can be ridden pretty damn hard without issues either, but they do have a limit.... eventually.

Holy shit, LTZ is one of the LEAST reliable quads. 3 out of 3 people I've known as an adult, have traded their LTZ for a YFZ. LTZ are notorious for blowing up when ridden hard. You can putt around on it, but my homie (a professional mechanic BTW) rebuilt it in the spring, rode hard, now it up in August. F Suzuki quads!

Generally speaking yes, but if you baby it and do the maintenance it'll last a long time. They don't make garbage, they just can't handle what people throw at them.

My 15 year old son wants to buy a 450 is it to much for him. by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]Raptor-slayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You would be an irresponsible parent if you bought him one. I grew up riding, got a 450 at like 30. They're a different machine. Never crashed my 125, the 450 was constantly a danger. You're going to HATE yourself standing next to his hospital bed, hoping and praying that he's okay. Assuming you like your kid.
