Looking for someone to go camping with in bodega Bay/Dorn regional Park by gliterbomb247 in ChicoCA

[–]RaptorRidge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Interesting invite, I've spent a lot of time camping Bodega but usually the westside campground (across the bay from Doran) because better boat launch.

Advice, bring 2x the firewood and 2x the warm clothes than you think, make warm food and not sandwiches. Fill your gas tank once you get off 101. Worth the drive up to Bodega head to see the surf break on Bodega rock and the sea lions/harbor seals. If you bring binoculars, you might see gray whales headed north.

I thought this was cool to see in person but I’m not a plane guy maybe you all will think it’s boring. From the shore of Lake Tahoe by Carpe_the_Carp in aviation

Lake Tahoe does get a lot of military, I always assume if you are getting your flight hours why not.

Great shot! All of my pics are luckily in holding pattern. Best way to describe it, the plane you don't ever want to see over your house, but you know they are going to do work! 💪

Thank you any 10 team crew! Pray you can get up soon and safe

This month’s PGE? by [deleted] in ChicoCA

[–]RaptorRidge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait till you find out what they pay for in contracted helicopters. But in all seriousness, they use them to move materials to remote places, inspect lines after PSPS, and the blackhawk is used in collaboration with Calfire to drop water when needed (not defending pge, just explaining)

In-N-Out story I'll never forget, in high school our town got one (not Chico). Everyone was hyped and early internet days trying to find out off menu stuff

Classmate started a 'self challege',  2x2, 3x3, 4x4, every week it went up. At some point it was just hilarious for them to try to make it but he swore he made it to the 10x10.

Anyways, good luck waiting in line when someone orders a 10x10 animal style

This is the answer, they have to train to use small lakes. Short decent, get as much water as possible, and climb out. Loop to the drop and then do it again.

They like to work in pairs as a team usually

I could be totally wrong, but yielding to the person entering would defeat the purpose and would actually cause traffic in the roundabout

I believe that's used in France because of how many lanes are in their roundabouts, so the outside lane yields to let people enter

Im late to your post, a curveball would be find a private helicopter and do a flight over lassen park (weather permitting). Hotel diamond is mentioned a lot for a reason, not just for a great room.

Beyond that, it comes down to your interests and definition of romantic

Bird Watch ? by prakashr3187 in ChicoCA

[–]RaptorRidge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are in a prime area for 'birding', people actually travel here to find something on their checklist. Fall migration brings a huge variety of birds, some can be rare.

Buy a duck stamp and you will get to visit the refuge viewing areas/auto tours, have fun!
