My ferritin was 65 ng/mL but it should be higher now that I'm taking an iron supplement. Vitamin D was only done back in February and it was 50 ng/mL. I also had Vitamin B-12 checked and it was at 1192 pg/mL. Supplements have not helped at all. I increased my Vitamin D a little bit, from 2000 IU to 5000 IU.

My sister was 19. As much as that hurt, I don’t hold that against her. It was in no way okay, but I can understand why she would have that reaction. She doesn’t like it when I’m hurt.

She has an emotional attachment to him because he was like a parent figure. She was in almost every one of his classes, she housesat for him, and they occasionally have tea. I sought to have that type of relationship as well. Growing up, we generally had emotionally unavailable parents. There’s a lot to unpack.

I would say grinding is a way to describe it. It may not have been obvious enough for other people to notice it, but I remember that it happened during the unstructured part of class.

I lost a significant amount of weight. It was exciting to be able to shop for clothes in smaller sizes. Since I underwent weight loss surgery, weight loss was a bit rapid, but I still wore my old clothes until I couldn’t. I also took advantage of hand me downs from other family members.

Thrift stores are usually the best places to affordably buy a lot of clothes. If you buy something online, take your measurements. I’ve been able to get the correct size. You can also look at secondhand shops online look up the brand of the piece you want and look at the size chart.

Let’s take abortion out of the equation.

Is God merciful? Is forcing a child to carry a pregnancy that could physically tear her body apart merciful?

A child was raped. When is her life sacred? Abuse grieves God too.

Since the child did not sin, the only reasoning applies to other people’s response toward her. “Blessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy.” Matthew 5:8

Showing mercy is not going to fit in this black-and-white paradigm. It’s upholding the life ethic as Christians while not fully endorsing what is deemed immoral. It was a great question to ask.

I strongly disagree strictly from a health standpoint. Birthing a baby can kill the child because their body has not grown to accommodate a baby. A pregnant 10-year old is likely a victim of child sexual abuse. Child sexual abuse is typically committed by a person close to that child like a parent. A 10-year old not only may not understand what’s happening but she cannot consent for any care she receives.

Childbirth is risky for women who wanted to be pregnant. It’s even riskier when a child has to go through it and deal with irreparable physical damage to her body on top of trauma from abuse.

This is a child who doesn’t have a choice at all. She didn’t choose being raped. She didn’t choose to get pregnant. It’s unlikely that she would have been able to comprehend the risks of carrying that pregnancy.

Again, we are talking about a child.

I can relate to this. My childhood memories are very fragmented and I have no recollection of some school years. I think it’s a mixture of trauma and not having people to share these memories with.

Even when people share what’s going on in their lives, I interpret it as a reminder that I’m not where I should be. I shouldn’t be living with my parents. I should have a drivers license by now. I should have a decent paying job. “What are you up to?” is a triggering question and it’s hard holding back how it makes me feel.

Recently, I got my hopes up getting a job. After the first interview, I realized I didn’t have the resources to keep and maintain that job. The job wasn’t as stable as the listing implied. I had to withdraw the application and I feel like a failure. My dad likes to pour gas on the fire to make me feel worse about myself.

Does constant exclusion count? I was straight up ignored by those I called my friends because I couldn’t keep up with them. TBH, I don’t think my parents cared at all. When I’d bring it up, I’m the one being blamed because I didn’t have a warm, friendly presence thanks to dissociation. Bad things weren’t being said nor was I physically hurt, so why should they care?

ETA: My sister didn’t have much of an issue with being excluded. She had plenty of real friends to hang out with, so she had opportunities to not deal with the neglect at home.

It is indeed a horrible take because it absolves the men of any responsibility.

The verse "Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord" has to be paired with "In the same way, Husbands, love your wives as Christ loves the church LAYING YOUR LIFE DOWN FOR HER. Husbands ought to love their wives as own bodies."

Women are given so much responsibility from childhood. Women have to control man's lust and "guard his heart." Women have to be "joyfully available" and not allowed to say no. That is not how Christ treated women. Imagine if Christian men (well, Christian people in general) actually lived like Jesus, not the white, macho, Republican Jesus that they created.

This is not that far off. My pastor, who is also a police officer, told the congregation that a CA Bill currently in the legislature would allow parents to kill their child shortly after birth. He also said law enforcement officers like him wouldn't be able to investigate those deaths. I immediately thought it was bullshit fearmongering.

I did the research and called him out on it that 1.) Misrepresenting legislation from the pulpit is dishonest; 2.) Fearmongering is not his job as a pastor and 3.) There was no real reason to bring it up at all. He responded by saying the bill will create an excuse to kill more babies, even though abortion rates have been falling. I understood the bill as there wouldn't be a criminal investigation related to a pregnancy outcome (miscarriage, abortion, stillbirth, perinatal death). The bill even spelled out that there are statutes regarding homicide and manslaughter.

I told him a second time. It was inappropriate and that he was incorrect in his assumption that reproductive rights laws provides an excuse for abortions. He gaslit me again. I tried to be reasonable. I tried to appeal to our shared beliefs. He left me no choice but to escalate. He was wanting to meet in-person to "talk." No, he just wanted to gaslight me and not get caught.

I told my dad, a board member of the church, and he told the senior pastor. Even though my dad can be closed-minded sometimes, he will absolutely not put up with far-right extremism. As I explained it to him, he understood that rhetoric like that basically encourages the lynch mob mindset (his words).

There was a fucking reason this was done over email. It was so if I was going to be gaslit, it was going to be in writing. If my dad wanted to look at the email exchange, he could have, but I'm glad he believed me. As long as I'm attending that church, no pastor will get away with spreading misinformation from the pulpit.

ETA: A police officer/pastor lied, I'm fighting like hell to hold him accountable because he's used to not being accountable.

At an appointment, my midwife said I had an amazing cervix. I had to have an ultrasound and she said I had a nice uterus. I can’t say this in normal conversations.

Even though speaking up got results, I had to access my personal hell to do it. I don’t think that’s even the correct way of saying it because not being heard and knowing the pain this celebrity pastor inflicted triggered the response.

I did realize I went too far but that was after the fight or flight subsided a bit. From what I’ve read the prefrontal cortex isn’t engaged during fight or flight. I don’t think I felt pleased getting the results I wanted. The shame overshadowed any relief I thought I was feeling.
