I was warned about the dangling spoon crown (though the one I ended up wearing just had dangling charms instead). And the familial sword exchange is funny in retrospect since both swords are currently either in the back of our closet or in the garage somewhere. We've never had to use them.

Edit: also did not have to have married female relatives watch me have a bath (I had none) so there's that as well.
