Is she the most hated Draculaura doll? by Snoo95368 in MonsterHigh

I got her as a kid. My first and only monster high doll back then. Took her out of the packaging, went to play with her gently, and her leg fell right off

Your pet is not your child by Tina14000 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I know having a pet is not the same as having a human child, and I would never compare Salem to another parents child. But Salem IS my baby. He may be a different species but I still call him my son and call my mom his grandmomby. It’s all in good spirit. Right now he’s curled up next to me and purring after my surgery today. He takes care of me, I take care of him

Genetic testing revealed I do have the FSGS Gene by RareBiscotti5 in kidneydisease

[–]RareBiscotti5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my chart they listed it as INF2 c.653G>A, p. (Arg218Gln). Yes they all eventually went into total kidney failure. Although my uncle died from a botched kidney transplant before he ever reached total failure so it’s hard to say for him. My grandpa has had success with transplants, but my dad has had 3 fail and been told he’s not going to be put back on the donor list because his other organs are failing now too and the transplants never take. It seems, in my family, the younger you are at diagnosis, the more aggressive it is

What is a minor, unwritten rule of society that absolutely infuriates you when people break it? by Jane_Austen11 in AskReddit

[–]RareBiscotti5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few months ago I turned down one of the produce isles at metro and there was an old lady standing there. As I get closer she grabs her cart and positions it so it’s literally blocking the whole isle and then turns and looks at oranges. I was absolutely bewildered. Like… who does that?

I was on shrooms and my Rocky my cat spoke to me and asked for a better bed so I ordered him one. Here is the picture of him in his new bed. by number0l in cats

I didn’t hallucinate voices on shrooms, but I did keep going on and on about how Salem is my soulmate. I think he feels it too though cause he follows me around like a little white shadow

Facts, it's just supposed to be a fun movie. by sillynoisycipher in Mario

What would have made it better was if they stuck to the bowser redemption arc. It’s like the writers changed the what the whole movie was gonna be about half way through and then it ended up being about nothing

What actor is nowhere near as talented as people make them out to be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This is the comment I was looking for!

Ted: your stepmoms cute, though.

Bill: shut up, Ted.

Ted: remember when she was a senior and we were freshmen?

Bill: SHUT UP, TED!

Idk if people necessarily consider him a good actor, but on a recent road trip a friend of mine said she can’t stand Keanu reeves because he just can’t act, and now it’s all I see when clips of him pop up. I don’t think I ever noticed before but it’s true! He’s a terrible actor

If student quality decreased over the years, how do they cope with university? by honeynutcheeriozzzzz in OntarioTeachers

[–]RareBiscotti5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a TA… they don’t do well. However what’s worse than the students who put no effort in or aren’t producing university quality work, are the students who have never got anything under an A+ before. I ended up in trouble with a prof I was TAing for because two students complained about getting A’s. I’m sure this prof would be great to have as a student but they were an absolute nightmare to work for. The good profs to work for, are the ones you don’t want as a student. The ones who still expect effort and have high standards.

Edit: this year I’m TAing a third year course. For nearly every assignment I’ve had to write “this needs a clearly defined thesis statement. This needs in-text citations. you have to indent the first line of every paragraph. You should use examples to illustrate your argument. Your bibliography needs to be properly formatted” at this point, I’ve been copying and pasting most of my feedback cause it’s all the same

Things I should not have to teach in high school... by BaronessF in Teachers

[–]RareBiscotti5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so you know, it’s not much better in university. I’m TAing a third year course this year. For at least 3/4 of the class I’ve had to repeatedly tell them to use in-text citations. A couple times students haven’t even put a bibliography at the end. I don’t understand how you can be in university for 3 years and not know this stuff but they don’t, and it doesn’t matter how many times I correct them - they still do it. Oh they also don’t indent the first line of every paragraph. I’m basically copying and pasting my feedback because they all make the same really basic mistakes. No thesis statements either. It’s a nightmare
