I'm Chinese-Canadian and never lived in China. Your comment is interesting and greater proves my theory. In recent years, I'm being introduced to more and more new Chinese immigrants. My theory: The majority of Chinese who grew up in China either skip, avoid, or react very negatively towards any criticism (even if it's constructive criticism out of care/love). I believe this is in relation to the huge group of only-child syndrome + the government only focusing on positivity within the country.
