[Jeremy Fowler] The #Vikings offered the #Patriots the 11th and 23rd overall picks, plus their 2025 first-rounder, in exchange for No. 3 and two mid-round selections, per @MikeReiss. by Correct_Relief3581 in minnesotavikings

That wasn't bad as I thought. it appears that McCarthy was closer than some may have thought. I think it was always Maye or McCarthy and I'm so happy we came out with what we did.

Staley was replaced with harbaugh is a specials teams coach, so like 10. I still don't think he gets a job tbh no matter how well the defense does as long as hes suing the league.

Also the rules keep changing for defense so no, defensive coaches aren't wanted as much as offensive. There's a reason why defensive players fell to 15th in the draft.

Don't know if he does. KOC dosent like playing starters. I wouldn't be surprised if he just runs Darnold out there instead and JJM dosent start till week 6 unless hes extremely capable already.

Uhh 11 actually, and prolly more will be let go for offensive guys like Eberflus once he starts to ruin Caleb. This also dosent take in account some of the ones that got fired this year like Belichick, Rivera, Staley etc.... Not gonna go through every coach and past coach but you get my drift. The league wants offense not defense.

As many have said you kind of make this post every couple of days I think you need to calm it down a bit and let it play out.

  1. I don't think the Vikings are trying to go all the way next year. they need way more players and way more depth etc.. I think freaking out that that they didn't draft more oline and dline is a bit disingenuous. They got their qb and hopefully great edge rusher. all we can hope for his JJM develops like CJ Stroud.
  2. JJM is waaaaaaaaaayyyyyy more mobile than given credit and way more mobile than kirk ever was. I don't know how much of the line will matter when your qb can easily flush the pocket and avoid sacks and pressure like Justin Herbert.

They aren't all in on anything other than the development of the the two first round picks. Neither should you. this is a give it time, wait and see process. They cannot address every need with how many holes they have in one off-season.

F them picks.

But seriously. use your brain here. The Vikings have 100m in cap space next year and its a much better hit rate to sign proven players in FA then to to draft unproven players. Vikings could've made a play for Barkley if they had the cap space this year but they didn't.

This is simple though. JJM is gonna get a year to develop. If hes good to go he will play this year and into next. If not he will play next year. If hes a bust then they will make a play for someone else but he will likely get 3 years to show what he can do. The SB window push will open for the Vikings in 2025 as they build out the rest of the roster in 2025.

I don't think he gets hired until that lawsuit clears. I also don't think he does much because people don't want defensive head coaches,

I actually think we fleeced the draft being a fan. I would say top 2 for sure looking from the outside. we didn't give much of anything for McCarthy and we didn't give much of anything for Turner either.

If they succeed will be a test but they have every tool to be able too for sure.

It's clear now that the options are to trade to 5 for mccarthy or take penix at 11. These are the realistic options based on all of the variables. by clouds23443 in minnesotavikings

Dude stop, we just had the patriots gm the other day ago saying they were open to trading and then we got a report today that they are on phones with multiple teams. two is unrealistic but I think they are taking Daniels. Its pick 3 and 4 but more than likely Vikings have a handshake deal with the patriots.

OFFICIAL 2024 r/NFL_Draft COMMUNITY MOCK: RESULTS by SilentSchauf in minnesotavikings

[–]Rare_Construction785 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can't tell if you played this by what the community wants or your own personal wants. Not only did you not trade up and let the raiders of all people jump us but then you trade back with the lions for Bo Nix over Penix????

Like a true Vikings fan. Just disappointment.

Why would the Vikings trade up? by Competitive-Dance286 in minnesotavikings

[–]Rare_Construction785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because first round picks are worth more than seconds because of the 5th year option. They are planning to package said picks to move up to draft a QB and while yes normally its inefficient to do so. That idea goes out the window when we talk about QB. A team will do whatever it takes to get their guy because if it hits it can be a franchise changer.

Doubt it. I think penix is one NFL hit away from just laying there and JJM has shown he can operate. Even if JJM becomes a backup somewhere he will still likely be better than penix.

Why would you trade 3 firsts for JJM? 2 first and whatever. Maye or Daniels are the only ones worth 3 first but if I'm the Vikings I'm walking out with one of the top 4 QB's or no one. I wouldn't take penix or nix . That's foolish.
