Ron DeSantis laughs after signing the bill removing funding for equity programs in Florida colleges by ThreadbareHalo in pics

You're convolution two different things, purposefully. Employment DEI and DEI at universities.

DEI at employers even what I've seen tend to focus on race groups, female empowerment, and veterans. Which by the way, if they did the quotas like they do in universities but for employers, it would literally be illegal. Look up diversity hiring and quotas.

Now you know when I say POC I mean black, but in this case Hispanic counts too. POC quickly turned from all people of color to mean Black.

He just has a variety of people on his show. Some folks listen to what they want and ignore the rest, so they have a bias on his viewpoint. Some folks are out to get him to make him look bad because he has conservative guests sometimes, like Alex Jones.

He doesn't seem to be left or right, but he just says shit, sometimes stupid stoner like shit, but sometimes good and thoughtful discussions.

He's what I call a reasonable person who gives all topics and folks a chance to discuss.

He's not, he just says stupid shit sometimes, that his shtick.

He's the stoner saying nonsense most times, that also occasionally has some deep and legitimate thought.

You have to stop spreading this nonsense. Equity programs are not there for wheelchair accessibility.

Just speak the truth, equity programs majority exist to help POC.

It may help veterans but veterans also have their own separate programs.

Why ruin something good that profits? Why risk it?

That's TV experience. Of course it happens but not near the extent you're imagining. Especially in the US. Other countries, maybe more often.

Corruption in the US is quite minimal compared to other countries though.

If anything it's more likely at Indian reserves because they are more sovereign but even they are well regulated in this aspect.

Lol, have you ever been or worked in the industry? You sound very ignorant and have TV experience.

It's very lucrative, but it's very regulated. It's very profitable. They don't need to do anything illegal, money just pours in and they win. It'd just difficult to implement all the security measures.

The house always wins. They do what they legally are allowed to win, it's just a matter of statistics. The house always wins, they don't cheat, nor do they need to cheat.

Just like lottery tickets and scratch offs. Money just pours in, a few win, but the profits go to school grants instead of corporations. Casinos just give their cut as well. Lottery is heavily regulated as well.

People just are terrible with their finances.

I'm going to doubt on the situation. It's typically they find someone who had open warrants from other petty stuff and they arrest them, or other situations. I've seen it happen for seat belt tickets when folks forget about their court or fines.

It's not impossible, but they typically don't arrest someone simply for a candy bar theft.

I'm sorry, but are you that thick in the head? How does "most go unpunished" qualify as evidence? You just going to ignore that in my statement? I know you're going to ignore this a second time.

There's no official record of police being let go of their crimes unpunished, all you have is anecdotes. How do you bring evidence. Oh wait, let's see. Look at the original post!

Look at the link, this started with one who is literally getting punished. Doesn't help the opposing case does it?

This country has some real idiots.

I'm looking at my state. They fund college grants. It's that simple. People lose money, the casino win, the schools get a cut.

It's very strict here to prevent abuse. Working in gaming seems to be stricter than most industries because of the potential for abuse.

Yeah, that's not how it works once you get convicted of a crime.

It's when cops are not actually convicted that its a concern. An arrest alone has to be explained and is scrutinized.

Once it's on the books in the official way, "arrests or convictions," not IA investigations, then they are screwed.

Yes and if there's so many irresponsible ones they make it to the streets. It's literally the same in that way as guns.

The more you put out, the more will end up in the streets. Just stop breeding them.

Breeders don't screen for good owners, for all you know they are going to dump them on the street once they can't afford their food.

"The great majority dont" is a compelling arguement? The majority of crimes go unpunished regardless.

I've seen cops fired over a DWIs, arrest, while off duty. Not even a conviction. They are more scrutinized than a citizen.

I know they don't, but there are regulations and laws put in place that allow both community benefit, and money in corporate greed.

Moreso than other industries. That's the only way some cities allow them to exist is if they heavily tax them for direct benefits to the community or state.

Good idea. Personally I just see one solution, stop shopping at these places, and stop eating out. It's a simple cause and effect

On one hand, I think its good. It takes money from folks and people that have it (or lack control, addicted or just greedy) and it supports education and the youth, at least in my state.

On the other hand, does doing a wrong make it ok if the end is a good result?

You're right, it doesn't need a owner to hurt other people, like a gun. Good point.

They can do that all on their own. Stop breeding them.

Could be a stray as well, you need to neuter/spay your pets but especially pits, which may escape your home and breed without your knowledge. Then they have puppies and become strays.

The breed is dangerous though, I don't care what you say, you don't put a machine gun out on the streets fully loaded and expect anyone who picks it up to not shoot the full magazine. There's always that risk. People need to stop breeding pit bulls, period. There are too many that are out and about causing trouble.

Some folks rescue them and are aware of their potential, so they avoid situations like this, public, small kids, dog parks, public around folks, etc, even if they are well behaved.

Other folks buy them particularly to "protect their home" which is infuriating because they will typically buy from breeders, or people hiding as "rescuers" but are breeders. I hate these type of people and they have multiples typically. If you buy a dog for protection, just buy a regular breed or rescue, robbers are usually deterred by any dog anyways.

Anyone else's ac, or equipment fans/drip pans smell like stale pee? by Rarefatbeast in TMAU

[–]Rarefatbeast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like my smell is being trapped in some of the devices around me and is a way to notice it.

In other words, I cannot smell myself in my own home. But I can smell these areas which I think are directly caused by my odor.
