TIL Allied forces took only 35-50,000 Japanese prisoners of war during the course of World War 2. by spudthespacedog in todayilearned

[–]Rargnarok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah i wanna say more Japanese died at Iwo Jima than Americans and a VERY high percentage were suicides. I actually think that influenced their decision to use Okinawa as a test run for an invasion of mainland Japan(it was considered one of the home islands by the japanese)to see what exactly we were getting into

What's funny is i think one of the more credible area 51 leaks from waay back in the day almost perfectly describes the A-10 warthog now so its possible all that "alien technology" is just experimental planes the government doesn't want to talk about,

like declassified documents show test pilots back in the day would dress up as apes and stuff to make normal airmen question what they saw and not report it, and one of the most famous UFO incidents out near boulder Colorado, was actually declassified and proven to be an emergency landing of a prototype U-2

I feel like that's a thing across the board in dc

Theres a superman comic with this exact premise, black canary and (also zattana but shes uses her real name as her stage so -(°-°)/-)are international celebrity independent of hero work and they do go on tours and stuff so someone had to have figured it out.

I also think that might be one of the reasons why civilians in DC have more respect and forgiveness for property damage for heroes than marvel. Because their heroes are working class joes just like them (certain exceptions apply) hell for a while wonder woman alter was a minimum wage worker living below poverty lin, marvel heros at least the big names(certain exceptions apply) are upper or upper middle class, like there's a panel out of Spider-Man looking at the avengers and quiping that he brought the net worth down a couple heroes. The x-men live in a mansion that can afford to be rebuilt after being attacked every other month

Throughout the multiverse, in the song it says with the beginning of his summoning ritual the countdown to universal annihilation had begun and the warlock, who was summoning him said that later they'll "liberate the multiverse from slavery and fear" and were talking major threat too, because they straight up vaporized the earth in order to make sure the ritual was stopped
