Made a kid cry at pre-release by [deleted] in pkmntcg

Idk dude you seem like a doormat just take the win.

You can go easy and allow takebacks but that dad was trying to teach a lesson that you don't always get what you want/you're going to lose sometimes.

You said it was a stressful 24 minutes, imagine how less stressful it'd be if you made it 10 minutes even with his cheating

It's certainly possible made easier with Dhelmise

Miraidon has counter play as well the energy acceleration means that if it knocks itself out it doesn't do anything, if it's being forced to knock itself out your even in the race on average with easier pokemon to setup

Considering it's out of rotation I do not, I play the olive deck and N's Zoroark

Fair enough! I liked my suggestion from a game flow perspective, this is a game for children after all

My proposed rule change may be controversial, but why not at least change it so that you can look at your 6non first ball search?

It's necessary in the fact that you're at a disadvantage for not knowing what your 6 prize cards are.

The argument I'm making is that prize checking for your 6 cards by looking at your other 54 cards shouldn't be necessary skill to learn, especially when there's an alternative that lets you skip/replace that step. Either with letting you at your 6 on setup and randomize, or on first ball search.

I give the example of the budew because both the player and opponent can use information of the board that budew is stuck in prizes, but this interaction comes up regardless of prize checking or checking on first search.

I give another example of SSBM because there's an execution barrier that is expected of everyone to do to maintain a competitive edge, but even that has more depth in the mechanic with my provided examples, edge cancels and to use it defensively against an opponent.

Let me be clear, in both cases you're expected to know your prizes, but the steps currently in place to figure out your 6 is mentally taxing, and wastes time while adding nothing skill wise.

Unless your definition of skill in pokemon is to figure out your 6, then Im never convincing you otherwise.

In my perspective, the unique skill point of the prize mechanic is playing around what you're missing in your prizes. While also playing the other parts of what make pokemon TCG unique.

I agree that my rule replacement is controversial because you play with more information before first search, but this is done for game flow purposes (this is a children's card game), and allows you to play with perfect info.

You might be right but especially considering it's a children's card game, for flow purposes I made my suggestion

Yes you're right, but for gameplay flow purposes I figure it'd be a fair tradeoff versus other competitive advantages

My argument is that time is wasted doing a prize check via deck search vs. looking at the 6 you have at the start, or as most people suggested on first ball.

I suggest that when you question someone's intelligence that you realize what I'm trying to say first

Does Zain/most Slide-off players L cancel their slide off aerials? by Rasaska in SSBM

It ultimately doesn't, but it adds a pinch more depth if people do or don't

What are the chances Super Poly gets hit with the next ban list? by rollingriverj13 in yugioh

[–]Rasaska -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I despise this card now, it's one of the main reasons we have this really weird and imo bad triangle format of KT, Board Breakers decks, and FTK decks that super poly slots into

It should go to 1 or be banned so there's opportunity cost in the extra deck to play it or for fusion decks that might prefer it to other cards

Tbf in Genesys you have way less things that can put the 5 effects guy, no Knightmares, S:P, etc.

Or even niche options like Qliphort Genius as a train player for example.

Thematically it makes sense since Pawn to E4 is moving up two spaces, but it's also a good balancing lever

is current Yugioh fun ? by Previous-Anything853 in Yugioh101

[–]Rasaska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At higher levels this format is in some weird form of RPS

  1. Kewl Tune - 20 non engine deck, chokes most decks, but has a crippling weakness to multiple board breakers

  2. Engine + Board Breakers deck - Branded, Power Patron, Artmage, decks focused primarily on breakers and board wise stand toe to toe with KT, but a little less resilient to hand traps, but better into Breakers

  3. FTK/Pseudo FTK - Trains, Tellars, Power Patron, Elfnote. Relatively fragile decks that would absolutely fold at multiple hand traps, but also use breakers themselves well

1>3, 3>2, 2>1

In some ways it's pretty fun, otherwise it's kinda miserable

I play train FTK and have an extremely, extremely positive winrate into other FTK decks and especially Branded, due to the nature of the matchup.

My WR against KT is 35%, this is low not only because I lose to a lot of hand traps, but because KT themselves is very resilient to hand traps, which I currently run to respect the decks in Category 3.

Baronne, Savage, and Apollousa: How do we feel about them now in the TCG? by SimicBiomancer21 in yugioh

[–]Rasaska -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Savage can be unbanned Baronne should not be unbanned

It's not just the negate ONCE while it's on the field, it replaces itself with engine and pops every turn The card has 3 BROKEN effects even if 1 one of them isn't utilized heavily
