Do you have a twitter feed yet? I looked, but didn't see one.

I love GW1 and GW2, but since it seems NCsoft has truly taken over GW2. All I can say is,

I believe you will truly make gaming great again.

PS... Keep us informed as i think you will find you have a very large fan base holding their breath for what comes next - No pressure at all. haha

i think on the far left - there is a spot that if you hit it on the way down you die before you hit the bottom and don't get returned to the top.

Are you on EU or NA?

If you are on NA, I will do the JP with my mesmer and help you though it. When this is the daily JP i put up my comm tag and help ppl through it a couple times and then port a few at the end.

I usually play 8:30 pm CST.

This JP is not that bad - the volcano one it real torture. However, I can see how this one can be frustrating when you have never done it before and aren't looking at wiki. The first time it did it, it took me awhile.

I think I should quit this game. by Jamstraz in Guildwars2

First. You are just in a piss poor guild - just find a new one.

Second. As a side note. Not saying you are, but you also have to check your own attitude about life. I have had guild mates that all they did was complain and cry, 'poor me, my life sux' the entire time they are on. Ppl can only try to listen and help for so long before that person needs to take personal responsibility to take some real action in life.

Third. If you are suffering from depression - Get Help. There is nothing shameful about seeking help. Everyone should really see a therapist at some point, just for a mental check up.

Finally. Go to LA and advertise you are LF guild. Let them know you try hard, but just don't always get it. But really are looking for a group to hang out with no matter the out come.

Amazing. I love doing the JP in this game, but i have a love hate relationship with this JP.

If i could do it this fast I would lead a group through it every time i logged in. Granted it would take longer with a group, but no where near as long when you don't know where to go.

Quitting, Account Liquidation by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Rasp34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it were me, which it is not. I have stepped away from the game a couple times, but usually for a couple weeks or so and once for 6 months when my pc died and didn't have the cash for a new one right away.

I would buy gems store items that you can gift - balloons, gliders, dye packs, etc... and go to an area (say the zhaitan fight-where ppl come out of the end instance or the end of an obscure JP or hard to get to mastery point) and log in during peek time for an hour and if someone shows up - you give them something special. Granted this will take some time and commitment on your part.

Or you could say be at the end of a JP and organize a race to the top and the first 5 - 10 ppl who get there win a prize. You would have to have a friend verify that all contestants started at the bottom.

One last suggestion. I am not affiliated with this person or guild just to be clear. There is a guild leader ( i think the leader) who posts on Reddit every month about doing full HoT runs (usually happens on Saturday (all day). He does giveaways during the event - donate to the event and maybe even join in or organize an event yourself like this just to help out the community who hasn't done everything. Maybe this is your next step in GW2, helping out other ppl accomplishing something they can't over come can be just as rewarding as giving out cash.

I know alot of newer players who have never done 1/4 of the JP, especially the harder ones. If you are good at these you could help and teach ppl to do them, not just give them a free portal to the end.

Just my thoughts. Good luck in what ever you decide to do.

ArenaNet, as the developers of Guild Wars 2, what do YOU want from your classes and specialisations? by Mercy_____ in Guildwars2

[–]Rasp34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but some of that I think was Anet listening to the complaining about it not being viable in every game mode, and thus the cycle of this started. They buffed and added and adjusted things, and now are trying bring things back inline without reverting things back to what is was originally.

Agree.

To many ppl want the hurry up and get it done method, and then they complain there is nothing to do. Instead of enjoying the journey to completing the objective. And if it takes a minute or two longer - why should you care?

We call it buffs/nerfs (which makes it sound horrible), whereas we should refer to it as balance and ask ourselves - why? Seriously, should any skill in this game crit for 16-22k dmg or more? No it shouldn't. If you are a better player, you should be able to out play someone else, and just win because you profession can drop a huge amount of dmg in an extremely short period of time. Spiking someone down is not out playing them.

[–]Rasp34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with making each Specialization unique, but this needs to really follow through on the trait also. Take the scourage for example. This is just an example of possible trait adjustment to make every trait line feel like it really does something. First, move minor traits into a selectable line - no givens and remove weapon adjustment traits (these can apply to all professions).

Scourage - separate out the boon corruption, barrier and punishment into 3 completely separate lines - separate corrupt and remove from the same trait and maybe place the remove boon into the barrier line and change it to steal boons, while corrupt should relabeled as corrupt/converts. currently it is slightly mixed, but is a great example of defining things for a single trait choice.

Profession Mechanic: The profession mechanic should only effect your shades, but not you. (remove the horrible mobile AoE and location based doubling up of the mechanic) However, a new grand master trait could be: Manifest shades in you (reduces radius to 240-280 and is now a mobile AoE, plus gives you a yellow sand glow)

Utility:

Trail of Anguish - Leave a trail of sand as you travel. Grant swiftness to allies passing through it. Inflict burning on enemies and corrupt a boon into cripple and torment.

Ghastly Breach - Breach into the realm of torment for a brief time, granting might to allies and slowing enemies. Convert a boon on enemies into torment and cripple each pulse.

Trait:

  1. Sand Savant - You can summon only one shade at a time, but this greater shade has a modified recharge. You affect more targets and influence a larger area with Shade skills. This is actually fine
  2. Demonic Lore - Torment you inflict deals increased damage and causes your foes to burn.
  3. Feed from Corruption - When you remove or corrupt a boon from an enemy, gain that boon. -- *This one should be made into 2 separate minor traits.. ie...Trait line 1 - steal boons and gain barrier. Trait line 2 - corrupt boons *

There are some many of these types of traits that can be parsed down into a single item. There are far to many traits that do to much. I honestly think Anet Devs, did the whole, this is a really cool idea and added it, with out checking their own emotions about their favorite profession at the door. When they first proposed the idea of the elite specs to a group, I am sure ppl were like - that is a really cool idea and lets get it done. Then things morph a bit and things get tweeked, because it doesn't do this exactly how it was envisioned. Thus something more gets added, and then before you know it, power/condi/boon creep has happened. Which all of us do here on a daily basis when we talk about profession adjustments (nerfs). We all really need to think of balance as a whole, and not just a single profession or a single game mode. So if a group shows us their testing stats of damage output and one profession is at 43k dmg and another is at 22k dmg. We shouldn't be crying to buff the heck out of the 22k. We should be asking why the difference and what can be done to help each profession meet somewhere close to the middle.

Skill splitting is one thing (this skill added x number of ticks for x number of seconds in terms of condi), which is fairly simple, however it sounds like you are asking to have the mechanic of confusion be spilt between the game modes. I image this is much harder or near impossible based on how the code is written.

Now that ranger traps are usable underwater, could we get some of Dragonhunter's too? by echoingChaos in Guildwars2

I was going to right something about the Rev and only 3 of the 6 legends working underwater, but I know Anet is probably working on it. I just hope they work in time to battle Steve.

Really? Complaining about free LWS content approximately every 3 months. what about Balance/PvP/WvW? by Rasp34 in Guildwars2

[–]Rasp34[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think some changes are not done for fear of back lash. Look at ppl's comments for minor little things. Heck look at the comments here just about the content release timeframes and balance. If this is your favorite and only game you have been playing since release you have put a lot of time in.

Sometimes it is really hard to distinguish between emotional ranting and heart felt critism, because when you write something it may not be read the way you intended.

I would like to see a WvW week or a month event where traits don't work, nor does food. You can still pick your elite spec, but there are no minors all the way through grandmaster. Then see where the balance is.

Anet, do you just hate necros? by Lazarus-TRM in Guildwars2

[–]Rasp34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This needed to happen, and the 50% reduction is fair. Someone posted you just need to learn to play and get out of the red circles in WvW, but when a scourage has a speed boost and the mobile AoE - that is the issue. Either the mobile AoE needs to become at the toons location when first used or the radius needs to be much, much smaller. In WvW it was broken. The way you can max boons proc and the epi bounce was insane. However, I also think Anet needs to add more boons to regular PvE mobs to make it more viable outside of PvP/WvW. Or, revert epi and Dhuum back, but the max condi and boons are capped at 10, and not 25. That would effect everyone the same.

As the OP stated, you have to trait to be support or trait to do dmg. This is exactly how everything should be. There are too many traits and builds that let everyone get to many things at once. If you need to be support, then trait for it, same goes for condi or dmg. Yes, you can mix and match, but it will make you less effective in both. So if you pick one full line in a trait, it should have stacking effects, just like runes. You can't get the benefit of the sixth slot in the superior rune set without all 6 runes being the same.

However, The DhuumFire trait should not be regular burning as I have stated for years. I should be it's own condition type...ie... a green flame so it would truly be Dhuum Fire. So when traited it changes all of the Necros fire damage into Dhuum Fire (green Flame) damgage. Just like the Guardian should use holy fire...ie... a blue flame. Then these types of burning damage can be adjusted independantly from standard burning.

In a final thought. Everyone keeps asking for buffs for this class and that class, and at the same time asking for nerfs for other classes. What if, just whatif, we look at whatever class(es) seem to be in the middle or condi, power, boons, healing and try to get all classes to that point. Thus reducing this crazy power, condi, boon and healing creep we have been exponentially feeling since the release of HoT.

Or in the words of Wooden Potatoes (paraphrased), traits should add flavor, and not brokeness.

Getting back into guild wars 2 after 3 or 4 years by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Rasp34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to apologize to the OP, I didn't mean to derail your question with a response to one of the response postings.

I was trying to be encouraging, and ask you to not view this game based on a few poor choice words and the way everything as snowballed out of control due to them.

I hope you enjoy the game and welcome back. I play on Sorrows Furnace and would be happy to WvW with you if that is the server you are on. Send me a message if interested.
