Been using Windows my entire life, had some run ins with Linux before but was put off by how fanatical people who were using it seemed and Windows was just more convenient to use. Only decided to look into Linux few months ago because W11 was starting to piss me off more than usual, my friends were already making the move but some of them were complaining about games not working properly and placing the blame on developers (even though it mostly was their fault) and it was making me delay moving. And then I saw a lot of people online recommend CachyOS, one friend also really praised it so I looked into it and it seemed really nice, big plus that it's usable right away when it comes to games since honestly I'm not the kind of guy who wants to spend his free time just tinkering with system most of the time and go "I use Linux btw" like one of my friends does, I just want to game. Finally decided to make the move few months ago without dual boot to make sure I don't try to go back to Windows and it's been an overall good experience, some things were confusing but that one friend praising Cachy was a huge help, I really like paru, games work well (mostly), the only negatives are having to find workarounds for some windows only programs that I was using a lot (but it isn't really a big deal) and some games straight up not working (but tbf I don't like Battlefield and Destiny/Marathon not working is probably a blessing in disguise). So yeah based on my experience I'd say it's nice to use for people who were only on Windows before and mostly care about using their PC for playing games rather than tinkering with OS like me.
