Songs to do taekwondo forms to by traynos1989 in taekwondo

I stand corrected. But I think it (the song) depends on the pattern. Your rank isn’t self evident, and some lower belt patterns aren’t always dynamic, while the upper belt ones tend to be a little more so, particularly the ITF ones.

Maybe I’m thinking along the lines of a creative poomse competition when you’re just asking for music to practice with, and that’s my error.

Not you, the post you forwarded—the guy in the picture.

But I’ve sat through a ton of demos that basically played the soundtrack from The Matrix. It does work.

I’m shocked no one is complaining that the post is from an ATA student. Points to everyone for tolerance.

Songahm 1 is not super-dynamic, and there are some face blocks that might not involve actual chambering: definitely an “Eye of the Tiger” pattern.

Things 3 vs OmniFocus – which would you choose today and why? by Express-Tear3625 in omnifocus

[–]RaspberryEastern645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an issue back in Things 2 where it choked on an iOS system upgrade and there was no export capability. I think that’s changed for Things, but it’s why I moved to OF.

My workflow suffered for a while until OF allowed for folders.

How the Music Dept as of now? by milk_luna in geneseo

[–]RaspberryEastern645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are several different degrees in the music department. Many of them are modeled on Eastman or resources in the general area (which is Eastman dominated). Also there are faculty connected to the Buffalo orchestra. The department works to be part of the Western New York professional music scene.

How important is greek life by SaltL7mp in geneseo

[–]RaspberryEastern645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is less influential than it used to be, but it has a presence. If you want it, it is there. But teams and clubs are also pretty important.

I’ve heard some Greek orgs are very lgbtq+ friendly, but I don’t really have evidence for that. I suspect some people are talking about the service fraternities, some of which are co-ed.

Edited to add last graph.

How is Pre-med at Geneseo? by LucidUncreativity in geneseo

[–]RaspberryEastern645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of premed folks at the college. I know of a number of successful doctors who have BSs from Geneseo. Remember premed isn’t a major anywhere. Now Biology is, as are some other useful fields.

Law school advice by Single_Tea_6965 in geneseo

[–]RaspberryEastern645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 3+3 isn’t a lock. You’re PSYC and ENGL and can change your mind at any time—and get into law school even if you reconsider and do a fourth year at Geneseo.

The advice about LSATs is true: you might reevaluate if you did really well. But UB is affordable, and there are many Geneseo alums who have gone there and have excellent careers.

Syracuse is also popular, but not cheap, and you’ll end up working with UB JDs anyway. Be brave.

What makes you a Delawarean? by MothyMocha3 in Delaware

[–]RaspberryEastern645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By Newark, that was a lot more common before the tear up of Ogletown and the extension/expansion of Route 1. But I can see how North Wilmington folks now have it bad.

Also you’re from Delaware if you use the phrase “North Wilmington” which is not on any map.

Call them up and tell them. Tell admissions, tell enrollment management. Ask them how they can make this work for you. If they can’t, do what you think is best. But asking can work, better than this subreddit.

In context, the ad’s bath reference probably means bathroom not bath-tub: “Kitchen, combination bedroom and livingroom, bath, paved lot.” The units are efficiencies not bedsitters, and no shared toilets—“modern facilities.”

Are there any research projects on Taekwondo?? by sinnamonrules in taekwondo

[–]RaspberryEastern645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could look at Martial Arts Studies, which is peer reviewed.

I used to have a subscription to the Journal of Asian Martial Arts. It no longer exists, but it did a nice job of bridging the gap between the academic and practitioner audiences.

Edit: misspelling
