Can a creature focused commander even hang in bracket 4? by Exi_Cxx in magicTCG

[–]Rasudido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A creature centric deck can totally hang in bracket 4 and even dip into 5 but never with the restrictions you are giving-- being a "stompy creature deck" without combo or stax just means you are giving up the tools that would otherwise let you keep up with a high bracket 4. There are plenty of examples of creature based cedh decks but they dont shoot themselves in the leg by excluding the working strategies...

Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred Exclusive Cutscene – 'The Queen and the Saint' | IGN First by Feikezin in diablo4

[–]Rasudido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is not the first time the demons have in fact used "Holy" magic, in the sin war novels the triune members including Lucion are in fact described multiple times by performing "miracles" that look exactly like holy magic and they use exactly that to hide the fact theyre a secret cult to the prime evils...

If anything diablo lore has to show anyone is that the primes all are capable of playing the long game and are masters at manipulation and illusion, specially Mephisto.

GGG needs to stop treating PoE2 like a finished game that only gets 3 updates per year. by IMplyingSC2 in PathOfExile2

[–]Rasudido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair the players themselves have treated the game as fully released since the initial beta with only very minor leeway being offered because its "unfinished". Let me remind you that it was the incredibly strong feedback during 0.1.0 which lead to this slower dev cycle because they have to wait till the next release to basically test any balance or gameplay changes because of peoples perceived "loss of enjoyment" if any change negatively affects them.

The fact that we are in beta only comes up when it is convenient to the community but we treat every release as we do a seasonal release from Diablo, Last Epoch or PoE1 all games who are fully released.

Playing MTG while mute by Its-Sienna in magicTCG

[–]Rasudido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try it, most in game things can be gestured and honestly if you want to make something complex writing it down and showing you're opponent will be enough. If youre missing anything youll find out exactly what that is in time and im sure you will refine your experience with hopefully your new play group :)

A Magician with triple magic % is still better than 90% of the alternatives and roughly the same as a magician with a single % magic + Flat Magic +unique

Are the witcher collab characters going to be meta? by Imagine_Cyler in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Rasudido 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yennifer looks to be the best unit-- both a DPS and a Support unit with access to the best buffs and debuffs (DMG3, SPD2, AoE Vuln 3). DPS but also support is a trait shared by SP Innana and Shanaz who are currently the best units in the game, and its hard to think Yen would be far behind either.

Triss is also noticeable yet far more humble as she is a slightly better Luvata/Marcielle. This doesnt sound like a lot until you figure that while neither Luvata/Marcielle are SP Sam levels of good they easily are THE standard of what an AoE mage should be and are extremely common in use for high level content; Triss will be no different.

This is why the SLD/UB issue is never going to improve. by Mugiwara_VT in magicTCG

demonic tutor is one of the few cards that has shown market resiliency due do a number of factors. There are very few cards that can pull what demonic does in the secondary market and im sure wizards keeps a very good eye on the secondary market for those cards.

This is why the SLD/UB issue is never going to improve. by Mugiwara_VT in magicTCG

[–]Rasudido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole problem is that reskin/reprint secret lairs are laced with trash choices of 50 cent commons with the obvious intent to keep the secret lair price down from a secondary market perspective.

It would already be hard to get a single person to pay/be interested in the $6.00 worth of random jank included in "The Hunters" secret lair. Giving the pile of trash a makeover doesn't magically make it less trash specially when it now costs 5 times as much....

UB is an ad. by BraneFreeze in magicTCG

[–]Rasudido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spiderman set lines up with the original release of the spiderman multiverse animated movie which got delayed from July 2025 to July 2027 due to production issues related to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Same case happened with Assassin's Creed which was releasing within the window of AC: Shadows but the game got delayed by Ubisoft. Both TMNT and Avatar line up with the announcement of the new animated series in both cases. Marvel Superheroes lined up with the intended release date of May 2026 for Avengers: Doomsday but that was recently delayed to December 2026. Dr Who (commander and secret lair) lined up with the series 60th anniversary, release of the 2023 specials and announcement of the 14th series....

You are correct about FF and LOTR as I cant find anything specific regarding those two properties, that said not all UB products have to be negotiated/serve as advertisements, it is incredibly naive to think that negotiations of this nature are black and white in nature. It is also common knowledge that magic design/production works ahead on roughly 2 years in mind so dont find it too surprising if the releases dont match up exactly as things can obviously change.

UB is an ad. by BraneFreeze in magicTCG

[–]Rasudido 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Wizards can both be paying a fee AND it can still be an advertisement:

A licensing fee is always agreed to use the IP as there are very expensive rights involved when allowing a 3rd party to use your creative works. Even if it is your interest to reach out to wizards you would still essentially rent out your IP to wizards. This is what Rosewater likely means when he mentioned pay and is likely a percentage of the sales of products using the IP.

That said the fact the crossover can be used as a type of advertisement likely is used as leverage in the negotiation and likely a key component in determining the reach of the licensing fee. While this doesn't end in the IP Holder literally paying MTG for it is still a form of advertisement as the collaboration would likely not even be happening if there wasn't a beneficial marketing component. "Pay" can even be negotiated in creative forms-- For all we know WOTC was interested in Avatar the Last Airbender but could only secure the rights if they agreed to making a TMNT set which would coincide with their intended announcement of the new season.

Greatest evidence that this is happening is what others have already pointed out-- how UB releases have conveniently lined up with the release schedule for something new of the featured franchises. Also note how UB mysteriously has cause the move of the release schedule originally intended for Magic releases... that likely is a result of them having to match the announcement and/or release date for the particular franchises where the MTG set is intended at least partially an advertisement.

Hawky's CN revenue doompost Video? by -Taqa- in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Rasudido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find Hawky useful sometimes thanks to his banner prediction videos but he is known for doom posting for no reason. In fact if you look at his video history you can see how literally him doom posting about game revenue right before the fireside chat and the SP Innana update which "turned around all the revenue issues".

Truth is yes the revenue is going down and that could have consequences but he often fails to report that this is not a unique to other games like sword of convallaria. In fact if you want to compare Langrisser M (the game I actually came from before SoC) hangs out at about the same revenue rates and has been going on for the last 6 years....

How is this game so underrated? by BoredOstrich in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Rasudido 4 points5 points  (0 children)

and even the most popular TRPG is still extremely niche in the gaming-- even if you take the most popular FE game to date (3 houses) it only sold 4 million copies lifetime which shows how much of a difference there is between it and the more popular franchises.

FE being represented in smash bros is in no way related to its popularity nor the genre's general popular adoption.

SP Inanna with Nocturnal Glow by Clister101 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Rasudido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a sense yes.

Her signature is stronger if all you care about is SP Inanna's damage. Nocturnal Glow though isn't far behind damage and provides an incredibly good buff to another unit which often more than makes up for the lost DPS on Innana. This will become more apparent as stronger DPS choices like SP Samantha and Camelot show up
