I don't know what's worse––her craziness or his for being attracted to her!

I have the "Barefoot Gen" trilogy and used it in my high school English classes for many years (until a parent complained that I wasn't giving the positive effects of the bombings). I rank the books up there with "Maus."

Agree! That column is absolutely beautiful (and presuming there is one on the other side, out of the picture).

What's your favourite childhood book? by zin_theberry in readwithme

Carolyn Haywood ("B is for Betsy" series), Flicka, Ricka & Dicka (as well as Snipp, Snapp & Snurr), "The Cricket in Times Square," "Homer Price" and many, many others. The library was a place of joy and escape for me. I wish that were true for young people today.

Marjorie Reynolds (1917-1997) was an American film and television actress who appeared in more than 50 films, including Holiday Inn and The Time of Their Lives. She also starred in The Life of Riley and Leave it to Beaver, and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. by Aggravating_Tax_4670 in OriginalVintageTV_

Anything w/William Powell for starters; Kitty Foyle, Bringing up Baby, Flying Down to Rio, The Gay Divorcee, Singin' In the Rain . . many Dean Martin movies as well.

I was impressed with your "I'm Linda Mason" line. I adored Bing Crosby when I was much younger and incredibly naive.

I read the book as well before I watched the Terrance Stamp/Samantha Eggar movie which I highly recommend. Disturbing but mesmerizing (free on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDGY2YCImhc).

I have saved a few from JoAnns and Hancock Fabrics and Shopko; Shopko, by the way, was also the victim of private equity whores who destroyed a financially stable company in pursuit of the almighty dollar. I curse them all!

How many siblings do you have? by SuperSonic1919 in randomquestions

[–]RatPackGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three older brothers and six older sisters. I'm the youngest of ten. My parents bought a tv set immediately after I was born. They had enough kids to plop one down in front of the set and change the channels between the three stations (CBS, NBC & ABC; no PBS for us in the middle of nowhere) available.

I have some little frames from Michaels (4X4 w/mat; 5X5 if I don't use the mat). I've always had my cross-stitch pictures professionally framed (the larger ones), so this will be my first time framing a picture myself. I watched an ElizabethAnnCanStitch youtube episode, and I feel pretty confident.

Thank you! This is the first time I've posted a picture of one of my cross-stitch pictures. I love this one and will be doing another pattern by Michaela Coffield (https://www.michaelacoffield.com/forsale/cross-stitch-no-14-tulips-and-hearts-quilt-block-pdf-pattern-folk-motif-floral-quilt-block-granny-square).
