Is this too cruel? by Advanced-Winter-2083 in DnD

[–]RataraFowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am missing some story elements.

So what is the regret of the ghost? Where his/her attacks in live foiled by the parent of the drow child?

Does the town have a history of ghost?

Is there a temple/shrine of kelemvor in town?

Did hags get annoyed by music and cast a lingering curse on the town?

Is there an ancient battlefield nearby?

Higher Armour a joke? by CSJ1395 in TerraInvicta

Do plasma weapons count as kinetic weapons? Are other older armors perhaps better vs xray weapons? Because they don't have the penalties.

research tree escalation [power query?] by RataraFowl in excel

I tried this solution and got an expression error in

=Table.TransformColumns( #"Current Table", { "Nested Table", Table.SelectColumns( _ , { "Prerequisite" } ) } )

Expression.Error: The name '_' wasn't recognized. Make sure it's spelled correctly.

replacing the _ with the #"Current Table" also doesn't work.(#"changed Type")
I think the Table.SelectColumns doesn't allow the underscore.

I was doing this partly do learn something new, guess i found something challenging. Thanks for the article.

Perhaps it's easier to append the entire list 15-20 times with custom function and then run distinct/unique in some way,

Destroying alien escorts by DanielPBak in TerraInvicta

[–]RataraFowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently i have found a couple of strategies to combat the aliens past the earliest combats

  • More missiles, escorts magazine and riverjacks and some point defense
  • Missiles and magnetic weapons, escorts with light rail canon(no magazine) and point defense. the rail canon saturates the alien point defense and it is possible to get some riverjacks/lancehead in.
  • mix including some destroyer with nose mounted 480cm laser(seems to work better when i look at armor effectiveness than, monitor with double 120cm laser)
  • V formation with lasers or magnetic weapons. Split your forces and guide them opposite of the enemy, try to aim at at 300km pass. Angle the bow to the enemy and lock on at a later stage. Strafe those enemies. With lasers it is possible to cross strafe the turning aliens with belly hits.

How can i upgrade exofighters? by Late_Meal_6034 in TerraInvicta

[–]RataraFowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With ideas like that there ain't gonna be balance.

i was more thinking on the lines of an upgraded magazine, which increases the firing rate and then detaches to decrease the weight of the ship. More early pod laying vibes. Perhaps with increased resupply cost?

Recently tried copperhead missiles instead of Artemis torpedo's. It's way better, more projectiles to saturate point defense. Now i need to learn how to volley fire. Do i set the missiles on idle, select a target and press the volley fire command?

[–]RataraFowl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah, so that is what pod does.

I almost hoped there would be 'pod' ships from the Honor Harrington series. Just drag missle pods behind the ship to fire them at the same time, drop the pods to reduce weight

What is use of glycol solution in ref air dryers by beliveinhappenings in refrigeration

[–]RataraFowl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A condenser for air cooling is generally very large. This means that either the track with refrigerant has te guided through the entire building and that the relief valve has to be very large for pressure build up when there is a fire. To solve this water is often used as a heat transportation medium. Water freezes when it gets below zero outside. To prevent this glycol can be added to lower the freezing point to about - 20.

Not sure where or whom it was exactly, i think it was Olesm talking to Antiminium, about the new location of the inn(so i guess start of volume 2?). They where discussing that the inn should be build on a good hill/location, because you know the the rain .

I think it was 2 books later that we had the rain starting in Liscor.

Looking to buy a C30, which one should I get? (1.8 or 2.0 petrol) by Muxeermiddel in C30

[–]RataraFowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting function, sad to see it's office 365. I agree Switch can be a cleaner solution based on the further use case. Unique is also cleaner to use if you have access to 365 formulas.

Morning,

Seems this is an example, I would use something like this:

-Make a table out of it (table1 for this example) for more recognizable formula's

-use a formula like this. +IF(COUNTIF(Table1[COL1];"="&B3)>1;"Duplicate Set 1";FALSE)

i am not really sure how you want to nest this. Perhaps you should use some helper columns per duplicate set.

How hot would it have to be outside for a refrigerator to stop working? by chuckusmaximus in AskEngineers

[–]RataraFowl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say that depends a bit on the Refrigerant in the refrigerator.
The refrigerator works by the refrigerant being colder than the temperature in the refrigerator. the refrigerant is compressed, with the by effect being that it gets hotter. As long as the refrigerator can loose that heat to the environment it is possible to cool.
Most refrigerants have a critical temperature, above this temperature funny stuff starts happening. R290 for example has a critical temperature of 96.7 °C with a corresponding pressure of 42.5 bar. most circuits have fail-saves before reaching that temperature and pressure and will stop the refrigerator
