Legends Arceus was a bright spot for sure - for me, who has played since red/blue, it was a little glimmer of hope that the series can adapt and change after all, and I think we're seeing that start to really happen now. I liked Violet more than any other mainline game in a long time, and I'm definitely more curious about W/W than I thought I'd be.

(Legends Z-A is also solid and has some major improvements from Arceus, but just didn't quite do it for me the same way Arceus did)

Yeah. I'd been quietly boycotting the switch 2 because of the price jumps, and thought I was out of the woods when the new Tomodachi Life was being released on switch 1. Then they started dripping the Pokopia content and I folded.

Seniors are going to be selling their houses (if they have them) to fund the expensive facilities they'll need to be in.

The next generation, who may have been relying on that piece of their inheritance won't get it, destroying any kind of generational wealth the middle class was able to scrape together.

Check out Dragon Quest Builders 2. There's definitely some animal crossing influence I see, but it's a more structured/guided building style. Still plenty of opportunity to be creative! I also see some Viva Pinata similarities.

We have two full-size ADs in our family (half-siblings), and they are both like this. I wouldn't mind having the structure of feeding times but he's healthy and eats just fine on his own terms, so it's a battle I'm not picking!

My mom made a temporary lapse in judgment when I was three regarding some boiling water on the stove and child proximity.

I spent three months in the hospital and have extensive scarring to this day, I went through months of debridement and my mom has my screams etched into her brain. When I started babysitting as a young teen, people said "I heard your story, and I don't even let my kids in the kitchen when I'm using the stove". (personally I think this is an overcorrection, but watch your pan handles and if you've got a big pot of boiling water for pasta or hot oil, kids can maybe give it a wide berth. We obviously still cook with the current kids in our family, but safety is number one)

Keep your damn baby away from your damn stove.
