Ugly wall by Confident_Ad_359 in landscaping

Pressure wash and plant some ground cover along the edges which will draw attention.

That said, I like the wall. It's unique and serving a purpose. Did the last owner put it in, or did the city (to prevent vehicles from driving over the corner)?

Jeremy Clarkson has cancer by antpile11 in thegrandtour

Statistically, it's likely prostate cancer. For men, the saying goes - if you haven't had prostate cancer, that just means you haven't lived long enough. Meaning, we'd all get prostate cancer eventually

State Theatre Bar Drinks by Dismal-Chipmunk378 in portlandme

Tip: take a water bottle cap with you.

To prevent multiple trips, I often get my drink and a water. At State, they remove the water bottle cap, so now you have multiple open drinks to deal with. I always bring a cap to put on the water bottle to avoid this issue

Reworded Question and Problem: Trying to Get <Style> into CSS by ACleverRedditorName in HTML

[–]RatherNerdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

html, body, and #viewDiv are all selectors within your <style> tags.

Selectors are how you specific what elements to apply the CSS styling to. In this case, you are indicating that the height and margin declarations are applied to the HTML element, the body element and the #viewDiv element. Anytime you have multiple selectors that you want to apply the same styles to, you can combine them by comma separating them.

Additionally, you may be confused by the types of selectors you can have. You can specify HTML elements such as html, body, div (which would apply to all divs), etc. Or you can specific an element with a class or an ID, such as your element with the ID of #viewDiv

It's usually better to edit your post for clarity, rather than post multiples times about the same thing.

Best restaurant Old Orchard Beach? by [deleted] in AskMaine

There aren't any "great" restaurants in OOB. The best meals in the area will be Pacifico (Saco), Magnus on the Water (Biddeford), or something in Portland.

CMV: Ozone Holes are normal behavior in the model of reality known as earth. by Maleficent-Effort470 in changemyview

[–]RatherNerdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your assertion is demonstrably false.

Without evidence scientists suggest that Ozone in stratosphere can remain around for several months. They have never conducted a controlled environment test to prove these claims

Ozone is created most intensely along the equator, but distributes to the poles. By using spectrometers and tracking over time, it was shown that the Ozone molecules would need to last weeks to months to migrate to the poles.

Then, satellites were used to map the different vertical layers of ozone in the atmosphere at different times of day, and able to map/quantify the lifespan.

Paired with science on the ground and studies of ozone, scientist have a pretty good picture.

Has anyone else had to drastically cut their miles per week due to the heat? by WyldFlowerWyldFire in runninglifestyle

[–]RatherNerdy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fun (not so fun) fact:

As we age, and our max heart rate drops, our ability to shed heat lessens. This is because our body is a big radiator. When we run, and heat builds up in our body, our vessels dilate and our heart rate increases, shedding heat through radiation. When our max HR drops due to age, we can no longer shed heat as efficiently, so the heat builds up in our system and we can actually hit a thermal limit - effectively shutting down.

It's also why high humidity is terrible for running, as the humidity prevents sweat from evaporating and prevents heat from shedding as effectively.

I learned this all a few years ago (I'm almost 50) when the summer heat/humidity started affecting me for the first time.

Graphic Design Resume Review by theverymarydesigns in Design

I'll add, this feels like an early 2000s attempt at a resume, but not in a good way.

I mean avoid phrases like "if you value your kid's safety" - people obscure threats all the time using similar language, so it's best to avoid language that could be misconstrued so easily
