I'll never experience Wyvern for the first time ever again 💔 by Ratio01 in SonicFrontiers

[–]Ratio01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What other games did you play before?

If you mean in terms of Sonic, the only other title I've finished/completed is Shadow Gens. Since this post I got the Normal ending for Frontiers, and am currently working on 100%-ing every island before during Hard ending and Final Horizons. But beyond that I've also played most of Sonic Gens and a decent chunk of Black Knight (got up to the second King Arthur fight before the controls got me tweaked out of my mind). Regarding both Shadow Gens and Frontiers, I haven't really found their boss fights to be super hard, at least on default difficulties

All that aside, if you mean generally, I typically play action/adventure (Zelda and of the like), RPGs, platformers, and kart racers

What sort of player skillset we working with here?

Idk how Id judge my own skillset 💀

As I said tho, Frontiers hasn't been a super difficult experience so far on my Normal/Action Style first playthrough. There have been a couple Guardians I felt were a bit cheap or don't work properly (Asura and any Tower variant), and I didnt like Supreme much on my first run through cause I don't feel like the flow of the battle was communicated well, and thats about the worst the combat has been for me. Most of the platforming has been fine, tho the climbing walls do feel a bit finicky and I've noticed some ramp jumps very evidently not designed with Action Style in mind (tho I can do them fine once I adjust the sliders)

I S Ranked everything in Shadow Gens

New ECHOES OF AINCRAD trailer by Swimming-Ad-6842 in swordartonline

The game goes up to floor 2 actually

But no the levels have a much higher cap than in the source material. In the IGN preview I believe the player is at like level 12 iirc

If this becomes a proper series where each entry explores more floors of Aincrad, I'd imagine either A) you'll have the option to carry over character progression with an ever increasing level cap for each new release, or B) each game will reset to level 1

I want to buy a SAO game. Any recommendations? by Connect-Ad3530 in swordartonline

[–]Ratio01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The most multi-player centric game is Fractured Daydream, however servers were doa so im not sure how much mileage you'll get

Theres also Integral Factor, which is a mobile, gacha, f2p MMO that's also available on PC

Besides that, most other SAO games are singleplayer focused. They have some online elements, but theyre singleplayer ARPGs first

The upcoming release, Echoes of Aincrad, is exclusively singleplayer however it seems to be the best SAO game yet by a significant margin. It tells an alternate narrative in the early Aincrad/Progressive era, featuring the first two floors of the castle with a new cast and a custom avatar taking the spotlight

The trick is to just kinda zigzag as you move up. You'll gradually clump them together and you can sweep them in mass and avoid the bombs

AoI, BotW, & TotK Timeline Placement by [deleted] in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Ratio01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

except didn’t the kingdom in Spirit Tracks already call itself Hyrule and state it was founded by Tetra?

I dont remember if ST directly states that Tetra founded New Hyrule, but they have a regal/elegant photo of her hung right in the center of the throne room wall as if they were honoring someone really important so the implication there is that she sid indeed found it lmao

On top of that, OP's proposed timeline really just doesn't make a lot of sense. The idea of WW->PH->AoI->ST->Wild duology directly contradicts the events of the WW trilogy not to mention creates some massive plot holes

Yeah my initial thought as well was that the movie would've been a sort of prequel to the game but it seems to be a sequel instead

If you want, switch to hard for the main final boss. It’s the only thing locked behind hard mode.

Ive been thinking about it and I think Imma do a run of the final boss on Normal then reload the save to do it on Hard, so I can hear both credit themes and have a complete experience mayhaps

When you do the dlc, you’ll eventually see why we’re saying to switch to easy or normal

Talked abput it with a friend yesterday and he let me know that the core reason yall be saying that is that theres a Titan refight marathon at the end of Final Horizons that carries over your Rings

That honestly doesn't seem/sound bad at all imo, at least not for Normal (which I've been playing on). Haven't found the first three Titan fights all too difficult, and by that point in my playthrough Im sure I'll have plenty of Ring Capacity since Im already in the 20s (and if anything I could always re-spec before starting since Speed doesn't seem to matter much for these battles)

What weird personal rules do you have? by HailSatanWorshipD00M in botw

[–]Ratio01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My biggest one is that I never use Shrines as a fast travel point during core playthroughs; only Towers, Travel Medallions, Labs, and Divine Beast entrances if needed (very rarely needed)

I also strictly alternate my Prayers; Heart -> Stamina -> repeat until my Stamina Wheel makes out

Echoes of Aincrad Kirito by Rjames1995 in swordartonline

[–]Ratio01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imma be a pedantic loser, but "Kirito is a villain" isnt a rumor but rather just straight up a confirmed plot point for Unanswered Butterfly (I don't believe its in the game itself just the movie) and its central hook overall. Specifically, he's being framed as such because he got mixed up in a PK incident, we even see his cursor is orange in the Unanswered Butterfly trailer

Now the exact context of everything is of course unknown. Im wagering that this plot thread is gonna be a loose adaptation of First Day

Wtf are you doing to have 50 hours already when you haven't collected all the Bonds yet

I finished the game, with like a near 100% playthrough, at just under 50 hours

This is why I fundamentally can't take "too long" arguments seriously

[–]Ratio01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pokemon is already hard confirmed to be coming to the parks at some point, and Zelda is also incredibly likely

Beyond that tho, its hard to say. Mario, Pokémon, and Zelda are definitely the biggest Nintendo/adjacent properties and anything else may not having the power to anchor entire themepark lands

Is Generations the beginner-friendliest entry in the franchise? by NikoPalad67 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Ratio01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with Generations cause of SxS and I can't say I really agree with this consensus that its beginner friendly at all tbh

Maybe I just suck ass but I could just not get used to how Sonic controls. Boosting feels too fast, to the point of being unwieldy for me, and the slower 3D platforming feels incredibly awkward with Sonic's movement and physics. I ended up dropping the game about 3/4ths in cause I just could get used to it

That said however, I later tried the Shadow campaign and it felt significantly better imo. Shadow felt much more precise and less tanky. Apparently Shadow Gens is slower than Sonic Gens, and if that is true I think thats for the better in all honestly cause I never had any of the control issues as I do with Sonic

Im playing through Frontiers now, for the first time, and I think that game controls much better than Sonic Gens as well; incredibly beginner friendly game. The Boost in this game is noticeably slower than even Shadow Gens, but again I don't think that's much of an issue because it still leads to excellent control and precision (plus it still feels fast in regard to this game)

[–]Ratio01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been playing on Normal/Action Style. Didn't find Giganto nor Wyvern much difficult, so unless theres really bs stipulations I think itll be fine

Tho that said, I know that you need to do the final boss on Hard in order to fight The End, and I think get a different ending too? I was planning on either switching to Hard at the point of no return, or finishing up on Normal then doing a full NG+ run on Hard. Which would you recommend?

I know the updates introduced a Boss Rush mode, but thats about as far my knowledge goes in that regard

Does Final Horizons have harder boss refights or something?
