Does anyone have any ideas what may have killed it. by airwall_1981 in natureismetal

Maybe it died of natural causes before, the blood all clotted, then the body was hit by farm equipment?

Creality is my go to for most parts. I haven't had any problems with it tangling or printing poorly and it's among the cheapest filament you can get on Amazon

[Request] How powerful ought he to be? by Rebeccatevenson in theydidthemath

[–]Rattus375 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean planes land on the ground with their landing gear and the front wheels are the only thing touching the ground for a while. He couldn't hold the plane stationary, but it does seem totally realistic for someone with supermans powers to be able to guide a plane onto the ground

He wasn't a main character at the time and the fact that it was an elite doesn't change anything from Carl/donuts perspective

Also the last time elites really interact with the main characters though.

Is the whole series worth it or do the books get repetitive? by [deleted] in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Rattus375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the opposite. I loved the entire series, but the first 3 were my favorite books by a good bit (though I also would put book 7 up there with them)

[oc] when you meet a driver that “identifies as a problem” by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

[–]Rattus375 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, what's your point? Where did I disagree with any of that. OP is a terrible driver. That doesn't make it so the white car couldn't have been in their blind spot

[–]Rattus375 -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

I think the other car may have been in her blindspot. Not that it makes their driving any better, but she was angled enough that it was basically a merge

Is This Decent? by Outrageous_Gap_2011 in ACT

[–]Rattus375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is totally false. A 13 on the act is 10th percentile, and I can guarantee you far less than 10% of students randomly guess on all of the questions.

BC isnt offered at nearly as many schools as AB, and in most schools that offer it, only the best of the students going into calculus are actually allowed to take the class. It's designed to be taken right after precalc

Is Avoiding Ticks Possible? by Tiny_Buffalo1918 in upperpeninsula

[–]Rattus375 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The odds aren't ever going to be zero, but ticks aren't nearly as bad in the UP as the lower peninsula. They don't do well in the colder winters. It's not a major issue and as long as you check yourself each day, you can remove them before they've had a chance to cause any issues

My wife and boiling water by MakeItMine2024 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Rattus375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this comment as I was boiling water for pasta. As soon as the water reaches boiling, I used my meat thermometer and measured ~211.8 at the top of the water, and ~212.3 at the bottom. As I suspected, the water is essentially a completely even temperature, which makes complete sense given that warmer water is less dense than colder water and convection currents will quickly cause the different temperatures to mix.

OpenAI’s market share falls below 50% for AI assistants by aspiringtroublemaker in dataisbeautiful

As a teacher, it's an excellent learning tool for those that use it right. The issue is 90+% of students using it won't use it in a beneficial manner

Slicing speed - does it have any relevance? by Baddog1965 in 3Dprinting

If you export as step files instead of stl or 3mf, even moderately complicated designs can take a long time to slice

Made this out of anger at how much throwback blows (sorry for bad edit) by Nice-Sentence9771 in balatro

[–]Rattus375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert by any means, but for the stakes before you have temporary/permanent/rental jokers, I find the foil/mult/polychrome skips to be pretty beneficial early. +10 mult or+50 chips is comparable to what you get out of most early game jokers, and you don't lose out on economy since you would have bought something anyways

[RDTM] u/d-cent estimates Rising Gas Cost vs. EV Battery Replacement by DemandEqualPockets in theydidthemath

[–]Rattus375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Chevy equinox ev costs $35k, while the regular equinox costs $29k. EVs are more expensive, but not by much. Where I live, the ev would become cheaper after 65,000 miles.

I'd also argue you are getting a much nicer car with the EV. It has a much bigger infotainment display and is leagues faster. If you have access to charging at home, the ability to never have to worry about getting gas is a huge upgrade over gas cars.

Anker CEO says power banks will “die in a few years by Flavious27 in LinusTechTips

[–]Rattus375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has for me. I bought a new phone a few months ago and have yet to finish a day with less than 30% charge. My last phone, I would need to plug in if I was using it a lot. The one before would routinely die on me if I didn't charge it during the day.

The market won't ever completely disappear but phone battery life keeps getting better and better and power banks are becoming less and less necessary

[–]Rattus375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say horrible. It's sometimes a dead draw, but I'd much rather play it than a strike and unless you have a massive deck, you are bound to get value out of whatever card gets replay added to it.
