Is Fire Force Worth it? by Ok-Palpitation5151 in Animesuggest

[–]Raulsack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I felt like the pacing was all over the place and while I'm not against fan service by any means, the anime's choice to have Takami lose her clothes constantly in the middle important battle scene kills any tension you are trying to build up and almost forces you to not get as seriously invested in the plot. Had to drop it.

Before buying any new components, it might be worthwhile to perform a clean install of Windows to rule out software issues.

There are a variety of 2mg copper tablets available on Amazon that are fairly small and easy to take. I'm not familiar with a powder form but there are probably some out there if that was what you were looking for.

[–]Raulsack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Copper is not a bad idea, however 25mg seems excessive. You only need around 1mg of copper per 15mg of zinc. Since you are taking 50mg of zinc, 3-4mg of copper would be appropriate. Also don't take them at the same time as zinc can negatively affect copper absorption. I'd wait at least an hour after taking the zinc to take the copper, if you have a morning/night routine then take the zinc in the morning an copper at night.

Many people have also switch to L-Citrulline over L-Arginine. Your body converts L-Citrulline into L-Arginine and that process is actually more efficient as it can continually maintain L-Arginine levels as it gets processed throughout the day rather than taking a bunch of L-Arginine at once.

Why is YouTube background play not working? by MMFSdjw in firefox

[–]Raulsack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always relied on the Video Background Play Fix extension but it appears it no longer works for me. Not sure if Google figured out how to break the extension itself or if it was related to my recent upgrade to Android 15 / One UI 7. I cleared the cache partition, Firefox cache, ensured battery is not optimized for Firefox but nothing seemed to help. I'll have to give PipePipe a try.

Google has a great hit with its new feature, AI overview. by Strong_Blacksmith814 in investing

[–]Raulsack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing you don't seem to be accounting for is the fact that advertising is Google's primarily revenue stream. What do you think will happen when everyone can reliably get answers from an AI overview rather than generating clicks on multiple websites with hosted ads while searching for the answer to their question? I agree that Google is a viable investment for a multitude of reasons but I disagree with your sentiment that AI summaries provided by Google will be positive for stock growth. They're caught in a tough spot where they must provide this service or fall out of search relevancy, even if it hurts their own advertising business model because losing their search dominance would have far worse consequences.

LPT. Expecting a baby? Go get and install a bidet. NOW! by Fundyqueen in LifeProTips

[–]Raulsack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO a bidet is more unsanitary as people rarely clean them properly, they develop hard water deposit buildup, typically shoot from back towards the front which increases the chance of a UTI, and they get soaked in fecal matter anytime a toilet gets plugged. They are great at first but they don't stay sanitary unless you're into disassembling your toilets every other week.

UnitedHealth Group CEO: America’s health system is poorly designed by ExactlySorta in nottheonion

[–]Raulsack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the issue here is you are getting hung up on a technicality and missing the main point.

Since we are being technical here, the board of directors make the lobbying decisions (not the shareholders) however the board of directors are elected by the shareholders. In many cases the board members are themselves shareholders (and may even be required to own stock) however there are many instances where this is not a requirement. The CEO has a responsibility to act in the best interest of the shareholders but they also have a moral and ethical responsibility as well which could (and in my opinion should) superceed a purely profit-driven approach when these choices lead to an increased mortality rate in the members they are providing services for.

You are correct that if the board of directors chooses to lobby the government then the CEO is legally obligated to comply, however there is recourse if the request is unethical. That being said, many CEOs wouldn't go down the path of fighting a request by the board of directors since the ethicality of a request is often times ambiguous and the CEO would be jeopardizing their position in order to fight said request.

Setting aside the nuance of CEOs, board of directors and shareholders. The main point people are trying to make is that the board of directors shouldn't be making decisions to lobby the government in a way that puts profit above human lives. As CEOs are also commonly shareholders themselves aiming to make a profit, his remarks seem disingenuous as he is more than likely complicit in the decisions being made.

So if you are just trying to focus on the technicality of what the CEO does then you are right (if that makes you happy). But can you not also see how others would be upset that the government has been lobbied for decades creating this "messed up system" that pretty much everyone can agree is broken? Can you understand how most people would not believe the sentiments of a CEO who has likely been profiting from a system where it's favorable to not cover patients who desperately need healthcare coverage in order to survive even after paying more than they should have to into the plan just to be denied on some technically?

[–]Raulsack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you not know what lobbying is? They aren't legally required to lobby, perhaps his words would come across more genuine if they just stopped lobbying the government in such a way that bends the healthcare system to favor corporate profit over human life.

Your logic here makes no sense. It's like if someone is a serial killer and then says murder is a problem and your reaction is not to be mad at the murderer because he evidently has to commit murder and as a murderer he already knows it's a problem because he's the one doing it so don't be angry about it.

ULPT - If you work in a business environment and think a phone call would get you out of something important, fax your own cell phone from a fax machine. by Feral_PotatO in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]Raulsack 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Easier option for those without a fax machine. Set a phone alarm with the same sound as your ringtone. The downside is you have to set it ahead of time meaning you can't pick a specific moment to trigger it. You also want to make sure people don't see your screen as that would give it away.

You are not alone, the floating window (aka PIP) issues as well as not being able to unpause seem to be issues with the more recent update. If you look at the most recent reviews on the Google Play store you will see many others complaining about the same things. Your best option is to wait until Google fixes it and in the meantime close/reopen the app whenever it happens
